{"id":132614,"date":"2024-12-02T22:15:48","date_gmt":"2024-12-02T15:15:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hotvideos24.online\/?p=132614"},"modified":"2024-12-02T22:15:48","modified_gmt":"2024-12-02T15:15:48","slug":"a-signal-of-future-alzheimers-could-be-hidden-in-the-way-you-speak-sciencealert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hotvideos24.online\/?p=132614","title":{"rendered":"A Signal of Future Alzheimer&#8217;s Could Be Hidden in The Way You Speak : ScienceAlert"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\r\n     data-ad-layout-key=\"-fb+5w+4e-db+86\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"7910942971\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>We&#8217;re still not sure exactly what causes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencealert.com\/alzheimer-s-disease\">Alzheimer&#8217;s disease<\/a>, but we know what its effects look like, and we&#8217;re getting better at detecting the early signs of it \u2013 including, perhaps, those in our speech.<\/p>\n<p><!-- START single\/mrec --><br \/>\n<!-- END single\/mrec --><\/p>\n<p>Scientists from Boston University have developed a new AI ( <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencealert.com\/artificial-intelligence\" class=\"lar_link lar_link_outgoing\" data-linkid=\"73092\" data-postid=\"145437\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_self\">artificial intelligence<\/a>) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.techtarget.com\/searchenterpriseai\/tip\/Types-of-AI-algorithms-and-how-they-work\">algorithm<\/a> that analyzes the speech patterns of those with mild cognitive impairment (MCI).<\/p>\n<p><!-- START single\/mrec --><br \/>\n<!-- END single\/mrec --><\/p>\n<p>It can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=F6O1cNKoCPw\">predict a progression<\/a> from MCI to  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencealert.com\/go\/IaO\" class=\"lar_link lar_link_outgoing\" data-linkid=\"73015\" data-postid=\"145437\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_self\">Alzheimer&#8217;s<\/a> within six years with an accuracy of 78.5 percent.<\/p>\n<p><!-- START single\/mrec --><br \/>\n<!-- END single\/mrec --><\/p>\n<p>The team&#8217;s study, published in June, continues their <a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1002\/alz.064029\">previous research<\/a>, where they trained a model \u2013 using voice recordings from over 1,000 individuals \u2013 to accurately detect cognitive impairment.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Signal of Alzheimer&#039;s May Hide in The Way You Speak\" width=\"1170\" height=\"658\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/F6O1cNKoCPw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; It&#8217;s the sort of test that could be done quickly and inexpensively, even at home, and without any specialist equipment.<\/p>\n<p><!-- START single\/mrec --><br \/>\n<!-- END single\/mrec --><\/p>\n<p>It doesn&#8217;t need any injections or samples, just a recording, and it could even be run through a smartphone app in the future.<\/p>\n<p><!-- START single\/mrec --><br \/>\n<!-- END single\/mrec --><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If you can predict what will happen, you have more of an opportunity and time window to intervene with drugs, and at least try to maintain the stability of the condition and prevent the transition to more severe forms of dementia,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/articles\/2024\/new-ai-program-could-predict-alzheimers-disease\/\">says<\/a> Paschalidis.<\/p>\n<p><!-- START single\/mrec --><br \/>\n<!-- END single\/mrec --><\/p>\n<p>The recordings used here were rather rough and of low quality.
