An entirely different group determines the winners. That\u2019s in contrast with the Oscars or the BAFTAs, which are determined by actors, filmmakers and other artists who are in the entertainment industry.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIn addition to the nominees, the Gothams is also bestowing special tributes to some of Hollywood\u2019s biggest stars, including Oscar winner <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/angelina-jolie\/\" id=\"auto-tag_angelina-jolie\" data-tag=\"angelina-jolie\">Angelina Jolie<\/a> (Performer Tribute) for \u201cMaria,\u201d Emmy winner <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/zendaya\/\" id=\"auto-tag_zendaya\" data-tag=\"zendaya\">Zendaya<\/a> (Spotlight Tribute) for \u201cChallengers,\u201d Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet and James Mangold (Visionary Tribute) for \u201cA Complete Unknown,\u201d and the cast of \u201cSing Sing\u201d (Social Justice Tribute).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThis marks the second year that the annual ceremony, hosted by the Gotham Film &amp; Media Institute, removed a budget cap of $35 million for eligible films.
