(Photo by Ed JONES \/ AFP) (Photo by ED JONES\/AFP via Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p>Ed Jones | Afp | Getty Images<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"group\">\n<p>Asia-Pacific markets rose Tuesday, tracking gains on Wall Street after the S&amp;P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite rose to new records overnight.<\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.AXJO\/\">S&amp;P\/ASX 200<\/a> rose 0.71%.<\/p>\n<p>Japan&#8217;s <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"LiveBlogArticle-QuoteInBody-2\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.N225\/\">Nikkei 225<\/a><span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"\/><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span> traded 2.22% higher, and the Topix added 1.71%.<\/p>\n<p>South Korea&#8217;s Kospi was up 1.71% while the Kosdaq advanced 2.03%. South Korea&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2024\/12\/03\/south-koreas-inflation-climbs-in-november-but-misses-expectations.html\">inflation rate climbed in November to 1.5%<\/a> year on year, higher than October&#8217;s inflation reading of 1.3%, and lower than the 1.7% expected by economists polled by Reuters.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"group\">\n<p>Hong Kong&#8217;s Hang Seng Index gained 0.36%, while CSI 300 was flat.<\/p>\n<p>Traders are preparing for a wave of economic reports and comments from Federal Reserve officials that will influence the future direction of interest rates.<\/p>\n<p>Overnight in the U.S., the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.SPX\/\">S&amp;P 500<\/a>\u00a0added 0.24% to close at 6,047.15. The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.IXIC\/\">Nasdaq Composite<\/a>\u00a0added 0.97% and ended at 19,403.95. Both indexes touched fresh all-time intraday highs and closed at record levels.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.DJI\/\">Dow Jones Industrial Average<\/a>\u00a0lost 0.29%, or 128.65 points, closing at 44,782.00.
