Audiences jeered as Stewart introduced the topic, with the host remarking that the crowd was \u201ca little judgy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tWhen tackling Patel\u2019s obsequious children\u2019s book series <em>The Plot Against the King<\/em> (following a fairytale version of events featuring Hilary Clinton and Trump\u2019s names and likenesses), he parodied Dr. Seuss by joking, \u201cI did not meet with Russia in a box, I did not meet with Russia on Fox, I did not meet them in Trump Tower, I did not have a golden shower.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tUpon playing a clip of MSNBC\u2019s <em>Morning Joe <\/em>host Joe Scarborough, who denounced the nomination as a flouting of democratic order, Stewart proclaimed impassionately: \u201cFaith! And the rule of law! Is all that separates us from the otters! The penguins, the apes, really the entire cast of <em><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/madagascar\/\" id=\"auto-tag_madagascar\" data-tag=\"madagascar\">Madagascar<\/a>. <\/em>It\u2019s the only thing! Faith and the rule of law. Finally [pantomiming chef\u2019s kiss], Democrats have a moral perch from which they can judge without shame, hypocrisy or nuance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAt this point, Stewart let a clip announcing President <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/joe-biden\/\" id=\"auto-tag_joe-biden\" data-tag=\"joe-biden\">Joe Biden<\/a>\u2018s pardon for son Hunter Biden speak for itself.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cMotherf\u2014er, we were <em>so<\/em> close,\u201d he decried. \u201cBut you know what, good, OK, fine, it\u2019s good, it\u2019s right, it\u2019s his right. He\u2019s an 82-year-old man, doesn\u2019t want to spend the rest of his life visiting his son in prison. Republicans get away with this sh\u2013 all the time. I\u2019m sure the pardon is a narrowly written, precisely drawn farewell note of compassion for a loved one.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIn fact, the pardon was sweeping, covering offenses that Hunter Biden \u201chas committed or may have committed or taken part in\u201d over the course of the past 11 years.
