The Narges Foundation is urging, based on doctors\u2019 recommendations, that she be <a class=\"css-yywogo\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DDKRK3zKBpt\/?img_index=1\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">given at least three months outside prison<\/a>, where they say overcrowding and unsanitary conditions are endangering her recovery.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">\u201cA 21-day suspension of Narges Mohammadi\u2019s sentence is inadequate,\u201d the foundation said in a statement. \u201cAfter over a decade of imprisonment, Narges requires specialized medical care in a safe, sanitary environment \u2014 a basic human right.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Ms. Mohammadi, 52, is serving a sentence in a Tehran prison after being convicted of \u201cspreading anti-state propaganda\u201d for her criticism of Iran\u2019s government and its laws curtailing women\u2019s rights. She was <a class=\"css-yywogo\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/10\/06\/world\/middleeast\/narges-mohammadi-nobel-peace-prize.html\" title=\"\">awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2023<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<aside class=\"css-ew4tgv\" aria-label=\"companion column\"\/><\/div>\n<div data-testid=\"companionColumn-1\">\n<div class=\"css-53u6y8\">\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Her health has suffered during her incarceration, including multiple heart attacks in 2022, the foundation said.
