Listen to \u201cLeash (Babygirl Original Soundtrack)\u201d below.<\/p>\n<p>In a new interview with Keaton Bell for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vogue.com\/article\/sky-ferreira-leash-interview\"><em>Vogue<\/em><\/a>, Ferreira discussed how her \u201cfraught\u201d relationship with Capitol Records, her <a href=\"https:\/\/pitchfork.com\/news\/sky-ferreira-removed-from-capitol-records-website-artist-roster\/\">former label<\/a>, \u201ckept me from putting out new music for 10 years,\u201d her plans to self-release another new song in 2025, and why she recorded a track for <em>Babygirl<\/em> in the first place. \u201c[Nicole Kidman\u2019s] character is very self-destructive and destructive with other people\u2019s lives, but she kinda has to go through this whole experience for the sake of growing as a person,\u201d said Ferreira. \u201cI think that\u2019s why I connected to the material so much, even though my circumstances are so different from the world of the film.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ferreira previously claimed that she has repeatedly \u201ctried\u201d to release her music over the years, a situation she describes as \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/pitchfork.com\/news\/fan-campaign-flies-free-sky-ferreira-banner-over-capitol-records\/\">beyond fucked up<\/a>.\u201d Last year, fans who run the social media campaign \u201cFree Sky Ferreira\u201d bought <a href=\"https:\/\/pitchfork.com\/news\/fan-campaign-flies-free-sky-ferreira-banner-over-capitol-records\/\">a digital billboard in Times Square<\/a> to demand that Capitol Records stops holding her \u201chostage\u201d and \u201cblocking\u201d the release of <a href=\"https:\/\/pitchfork.com\/news\/59137-sky-ferreira-announces-new-album-title\/\"><em>Masochism<\/em><\/a>, her sophomore album that\u2019s been teased since 2015. After that stint, Ferreira was <a href=\"https:\/\/pitchfork.com\/news\/sky-ferreira-removed-from-capitol-records-website-artist-roster\/\">removed from the Capitol Records artist roster<\/a> on the label\u2019s website.<\/p>\n<p>After releasing her 2013 debut album, <a href=\"https:\/\/pitchfork.com\/reviews\/albums\/18681-sky-ferreira-night-time-my-time\/\"><em>Night Time, My Time<\/em><\/a>, Ferreira put out \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/pitchfork.com\/news\/sky-ferreira-releases-new-song-downhill-lullaby-listen\/\">Downhill Lullaby<\/a>,\u201d in 2019, and \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/pitchfork.com\/reviews\/tracks\/sky-ferreira-dont-forget\/\">Don\u2019t Forget<\/a>,\u201d in 2022.
