The game\u2019s early access period for Premium Edition and Collector\u2019s Edition buyers launches at 7PM ET today, but full ray tracing won\u2019t be added until December 9th, when the game launches for everyone else.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">\u201cFollowing the release of the update, shadows, reflections, and global illumination will all be accurately rendered in\u00a0<em>Indiana Jones and the Great Circle<\/em>\u00a0using Full Ray Tracing, elevating image quality,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/go.skimresources.com\/?id=1025X1701640&amp;xs=1&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.nvidia.com%2Fen-us%2Fgeforce%2Fnews%2Findiana-jones-marvel-rivals-geforce-game-ready-driver%2F\">Nvidia says in a blog post<\/a>. And <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2023\/8\/22\/23841148\/nvidia-dlss-3-5-ray-reconstruction-ray-tracing-quality\">DLSS Ray Reconstruction<\/a> will be \u201ccoming soon,\u201d according to an emailed media alert.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">The belated addition of the graphics options could sting for early access buyers, especially given that early access isn\u2019t cheap: the Premium Edition, for example, costs $99.99, a $30 increase over the game\u2019s standard $69.99 price.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">The game already has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2024\/12\/3\/24312550\/the-indiana-jones-and-the-great-circle-pc-specs-are-an-adventure\">hefty PC specs<\/a>, including that GPU hardware ray tracing is required even at minimum. Jim Kjellin, the CTO of <em>Great Circle<\/em> developer MachineGames, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2024\/12\/4\/24313654\/bethesda-fixed-the-typos-on-indiana-jones-pc-specs-and-answered-our-question-about-ray-tracing\">gave us a reason<\/a> for as to why that\u2019s the case:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<blockquote class=\"duet--article--blockquote jzbdts2\">\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup jzbdtsa jzbdts0\"><em>Indiana Jones and the Great Circle<\/em> uses a technique called global illumination to light the environment and characters. Our engine MOTOR, used by MachineGames, uses hardware raytracing to calculate this.
