       &#10;        &#10;        &#10;        col1\" id=\"rebelltitem3\" data-id=\"3\" data-reload-ads=\"false\" data-is-image=\"False\" data-href=\"https:\/\/www.gbnews.com\/health\/how-to-lower-cholesterol-best-snacks?rebelltitem=3#rebelltitem3\" data-basename=\"particle-3\" data-post-id=\"2670338578\" data-published-at=\"1733439474\" data-use-pagination=\"False\">\n<p>Mei explained: \u201cCertain foods, especially those rich in soluble fibre, plant sterols, and unsaturated fats, can significantly lower LDL cholesterol and may complement or, in a few cases, produce similar effects to statins, particularly for individuals with mild cholesterol elevations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSoluble fibre-rich foods such as oats, beans, apples, and citrus fruits help lower cholesterol by binding to it in the digestive system, reducing its absorption.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor example, just 1.5 cups of cooked porridge oats daily may lower LDL cholesterol by up to 10 per cent over time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The expert continued: \u201cPlant sterols and stanols found in fortified foods like spreads and yoghurts can also support healthy cholesterol levels, leading to reductions of six to 10 per cent in LDL cholesterol when consumed in daily amounts of around 1.5 to three grams, and alongside a healthy, balanced diet.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"rebellt-item&#10;        &#10;        &#10;        &#10;        col1\" id=\"rebelltitem5\" data-id=\"5\" data-reload-ads=\"false\" data-is-image=\"False\" data-href=\"https:\/\/www.gbnews.com\/health\/how-to-lower-cholesterol-best-snacks?rebelltitem=5#rebelltitem5\" data-basename=\"particle-5\" data-post-id=\"2670338578\" data-published-at=\"1733439474\" data-use-pagination=\"False\">\n<p>\u201cIncorporating healthy fats is another effective strategy,\u201d the expert continued.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cNuts like almonds and walnuts, as well as fatty fish like salmon, provide beneficial omega-3 fatty acids and monounsaturated fats that lower LDL cholesterol and improve the overall lipid profile.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>To add additional cholesterol-binding fibre to the diet, Mei recommends eating whole grains like barley and brown rice. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"rebellt-item&#10;
