However, there\u2019s another small but important change for users of the Apple Music and Apple TV app, and that\u2019s the ability to search using natural language in those apps.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-981352\"\/><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-natural-language-search-coming-to-apple-music-and-apple-tv-app\">Natural language search coming to Apple Music and Apple TV app<\/h2>\n<p>The news was confirmed by Apple itself in the release notes for <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2024\/12\/05\/ios-18-2-release-notes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">iOS 18.2 RC<\/a> made available on Thursday to developers and beta testers. In the notes, Apple says that Apple Music and Apple TV app now feature natural language search, so that users can describe what they\u2019re looking for without necessarily knowing the name of the song, movie, or series.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNatural language search in Apple Music and Apple TV app lets you describe what you\u2019re looking for using any combination of categories like genres, moods, actors, decades, and more,\u201d the iOS 18.2 RC update description reads.<\/p>\n<p>Users can search for things like \u201cnostalgic hits from the 90s\u201d or \u201csongs similar to Espresso.\u201d The natural search also works with Siri, so you can ask the assistant to \u201cplay songs with epic guitar solos.\u201d At least on Apple Music, users could already search based on lyrics when they can\u2019t remember the name of the song. The feature only works in English for now \u2013 just like other Apple Intelligence features.<\/p>\n<p>With iOS 18.1, <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2024\/09\/25\/photos-search-in-ios-181-actually-works-thanks-to-apple-intelligence\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Apple introduced natural language search to the Photos app<\/a>, allowing users to easily find a photo or video using specific phrases. For example, you can now search for a photo of someone wearing a blue sweater. In my tests, the Photos app can even recognize videos I\u2019ve shot from an airplane window when I search for \u201cairplanes\u201d \u2013 something that wasn\u2019t possible before.<\/p>\n<p>iOS 18.2 will be released to the public in the next few days.
