It had sought to link Trump\u2019s views on abortion to those of late Supreme Court Justice and liberal icon Ruth Bader Ginsburg.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm4c7n7v000053b6m947oc9au@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            Musk, through a trust that bears his name, donated $20.5 million to the group, named RBG PAC, on October 24, according to filings with the Federal Election Commission. He was the sole donor to the group, which was formed in mid-October. The donation\u2019s timing meant that Musk\u2019s involvement was not disclosed until Thursday\u2019s post-election filings with the federal regulators.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm4c7n7v000063b6m6qn2ky7j@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            Ginsburg\u2019s granddaughter, Clara Spera, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2024\/10\/25\/trump-super-pac-abortion-rbg-pac\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">publicly denounced<\/a> the ads \u2013 which sought to neutralize abortion as a liability for Trump in the campaign \u2013 as misleading and an \u201caffront\u201d to Ginsburg\u2019s legacy as a staunch defender of abortion rights.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm4c7n7v000073b6m1gkgbflf@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            According to the new filings, Musk also donated $3 million to the MAHA Alliance, a super PAC that <a href=\"https:\/\/host2.adimpact.com\/admo\/viewer\/1046f2d1-5895-48d5-be2d-e07c523fcd30\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ran stark ads in key swing states urging supporters of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.<\/a> to back Trump in the closing stretch of the campaign. Trump has now tapped Kennedy, one of the nation\u2019s most prominent anti-vaccine conspiracy theorists, to oversee the Health and Human Services Department.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm4c7n7v000093b6mhrl4csj0@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            Musk has emerged as a key player in Trump\u2019s orbit during the transition to a second White House term. The president-elect has tapped the tech magnate, along with former Republican presidential contender Vivek Ramaswamy, to oversee a new Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, aimed at cutting government spending. They include Linda McMahon, the former wrestling company executive tapped to serve as Education secretary. She donated more than $20 million to the Trump-aligned super PAC this cycle.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm4c9jwpb000s3b6mg9jo7f8b@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            McMahon and Lutnick also serve as co-chairs of Trump\u2019s transition operation.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm4c9jwpb000t3b6mem2yl57y@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            Other Trump picks who have made seven-figure donations to MAGA Inc. include former Georgia Sen. Kelly Loeffler, his choice to lead the Small Business Administration; Scott Bessent, whom Trump has selected as Treasury secretary; and two of his choices for plum diplomatic posts in Europe, Arkansas investor Warren Stephens and Charles Kushner, the father-in-law of Trump\u2019s daughter, Ivanka.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm4c9jwpb000v3b6mnd65xnvu@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            Other uber-wealthy figures who made late donations include venture capitalists Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz, whose firm has invested in crypto businesses. They donated a combined $23 million in November to Fairshake, the crypto industry\u2019s main super PAC, the new filings show. Fairshake and aligned groups <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2024\/11\/17\/politics\/crypto-industry-donald-trump-reelection\/index.html\">spent heavily to influence congressional races.<\/a> Andreessen and Horowitz also donated to a pro-Trump super PAC earlier in the cycle.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm4c9jwpb000w3b6mrh9d9nrv@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            Trump, who once dismissed cryptocurrency as a scam, has become a fan of digital assets and has made clear he intends to diverge from the Biden administration\u2019s aggressive regulation of the industry. This week, he announced <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2024\/12\/04\/tech\/paul-atkins-sec-gail-slater-antitrust\/index.html\">Paul Atkins<\/a>, a crypto advocate and co-chair of the Token Alliance, as his pick to serve as chair of the Securities and Exchange Commission. On Thursday, Trump announced tech investor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/politics\/live-news\/trump-musk-ramaswamy-doge-12-5-24#cm4c121i7000n3b5vcp5xy2u9\">David Sacks<\/a> will be his White House \u201cczar\u201d overseeing artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency policy.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm4c9jwpb000x3b6m4am88dq4@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            Fairshake and its affiliates already have touted a $78 million stockpile for the 2026 midterm elections, in the form of campaign funds left over from this year\u2019s elections and pledged donations.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm4ctiqht00003b6novwxb8qd@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            Vice President Kamala Harris\u2019 defunct presidential campaign had just $1.8 million in its account on November 25, according to the new filings with federal regulators, having virtually emptied its massive war chest of more than $1 billion.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm4cttf6b00063b6nrtrcfpbw@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            The final cash on hand total follows intense scrutiny of the Harris campaign\u2019s management of resources in its losing effort. Her frenzied spending in the final weeks of the campaign and Democrats\u2019 aggressive efforts to secure donations after the election, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/11\/17\/us\/politics\/harris-campaign-finances.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">drew intense scrutiny<\/a> and raised alarms that her campaign was grappling with unpaid bills.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm4cttf6b00073b6n0e14htut@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            But after record-breaking fundraising, Harris\u2019 operation appears set to close its books without debt, reporting $1.82 million in cash on hand.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm4cttf6b00083b6nxgq9ypuv@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            The new report, covering activity from October 17 through November 25, also showed the Harris campaign burning through money during the intense home stretch \u2014 spending more than $270 million during that period.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm4cttf6b00093b6ngqngivwy@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            For the entire campaign, including outgoing President Joe Biden\u2019s time as the Democratic nominee, the campaign spent roughly $1.2 billion, according to the filing.
