Poultry at the farm <a href=\"https:\/\/ktar.com\/story\/5627782\/cases-of-bird-flu-confirmed-at-pinal-county-poultry-farm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tested positive for bird flu<\/a> on Nov. 15.<\/p>\n<p>Both of the infected people reported mild symptoms, received treatment and have since recovered, according to AZDHS.<\/p>\n<h2>Is bird flu transmissible between humans?<\/h2>\n<p>There is no evidence to date of human-to-human transmission of bird flu. As a result, the risk to the general public remains low, AZDHS said.<\/p>\n<p>Most human infections occur after unprotected exposure to sick or dead infected animals, or their environment.<\/p>\n<p>Typically, infections happen when the virus gets in a person\u2019s eyes, nose or mouth.<\/p>\n<p>Bird flu symptoms in humans can range from mild respiratory issues to pneumonia, organ failure or even death.<\/p>\n<h2>Where has bird flu been detected in Arizona?<\/h2>\n<p>The outbreak at the Pinal County farm isn\u2019t the state\u2019s only recent avian influenza incident.<\/p>\n<p>On Nov. 21, <a href=\"https:\/\/ktar.com\/story\/5631177\/bird-flu-outbreak-maricopa-county\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bird flu was detected<\/a> at a backyard flock in Maricopa County.<\/p>\n<p>AZDHS is working with its partners on testing and treatment at the infected locations, including by providing protective gear for workers.<\/p>\n<p>Both outbreak locations were put under quarantine in an effort to mitigate and eliminate the virus.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone who suspects poultry to have bird flu should call the sick bird hotline at 866-536-7593.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"twitter-follow-button\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DannyShapiro13\" data-show-count=\"false\" rel=\"noopener\">Follow @DannyShapiro13<\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"textwidget\">\n<div style=\"background-color: #f0f0f0; padding: 20px 30px 5px 30px; margin: 10px 0; border-left: 3px solid #E21B23;\">\n<h4 style=\"margin: 0 0 3px; font-size: 1.1em;\">We want to hear from you.<\/h4>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0px;\">Have a story idea or tip?
