REUTERS\/Mario Anzuoni(REUTERS)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>People magazine cited an audience member, Demecos Chambers, who claimed Foxx opened up about being \u201cliterally seconds and moments away from death\u201d following his medical emergency in April 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Chambers recounted that Foxx\u2019s health crisis stemmed from \u201cpure exhaustion\u201d as his body gave out from the toll of age and overwork. Well, he was actually in a coma and didn\u2019t wake up until a few weeks later.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Foxx&#8217;s daughter&#8217;s guitar music helped him out of coma<\/h2>\n<p>Chambers revealed that one of Foxx\u2019s daughters regularly played the guitar for him while he was unconscious. \u201cShe\u2019s playing one of their favourite songs or whatever on a daily basis,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd he said that\u2019s the only thing he could recall hearing in his sleep, and it brought him essentially out of his coma.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe had to start from day one,\u201d he expressed, and added, \u201cWhile he\u2019s telling the story, he\u2019s throwing bits in there left and right. It\u2019s stand-up comedy. He\u2019s dancing a little bit. He\u2019s playing songs on the piano.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Netflix special, set to premiere on December 10 dropped a trailer where Foxx greets the audience with gratitude, saying, \u201cI\u2019m back, and I\u2019m so glad to see you all here.
