He was 62. According to TMZ, Mensch was the pilot of a single-seat plane that crashed on a road in Homosassa, FL. The cause of the crash is under investigation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tMensch joined <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/tyler-perry-studios\/\" id=\"auto-tag_tyler-perry-studios\" data-tag=\"tyler-perry-studios\">Tyler Perry Studios<\/a> in 2016, shortly after the company had <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2015\/10\/tyler-perry-studios-fort-mcpherson-atlanta-new-production-facility-1201569136\/\">bought the former Fort McPherson Army Base<\/a> in Atlanta. He oversaw TPS\u2019 transition from Greenbrier to Fort McPherson, which was converted into a 330-acre film and TV production lot, one of the largest in the country. The lot has housed Perry-created fare as well as outside productions and was the <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2020\/04\/tyler-perry-production-plan-coronavirus-atlanta-studio-1202917968\/\">first to become operational during the pandemic<\/a> when Perry restarted filming with Covid protocols.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cWe are incredibly saddened by the passing of our dear friend, Steve Mensch,\u201d a rep for Tyler Perry Studios said in a statement. \u201cSteve was a cherished member of our team for more than 8 years, and well beloved in the community of Atlanta. It is hard to imagine not seeing him smiling throughout the halls. We will miss him dearly.
