{"id":134792,"date":"2024-12-08T17:36:50","date_gmt":"2024-12-08T10:36:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hotvideos24.online\/?p=134792"},"modified":"2024-12-08T17:36:50","modified_gmt":"2024-12-08T10:36:50","slug":"more-and-more-people-are-microdosing-ozempic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hotvideos24.online\/?p=134792","title":{"rendered":"More and More People Are Microdosing Ozempic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\r\n     data-ad-layout-key=\"-fb+5w+4e-db+86\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"7910942971\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"incArticle\">\n<div class=\"space-y-4 lg:space-y-0\">\n<p><span>Image by<!-- --> <!-- -->Steve Christo \/ Corbis via Getty \/ Futurism<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>As drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/GMA\/Wellness\/ozempic-wegovy-move-closer-longer-shortage-fda\/story?id=115321505\" class=\"underline hover:text-neoscope hover:no-underline transition-all duration-200 ease-in-out\" style=\"text-decoration-color:#ff9900\">keep flying off pharmacy shelves<\/a>, more and more patients are ignoring manufacturers&#8217; and medical professionals&#8217; instructions\u00a0by &#8220;microdosing&#8221; it.<\/p>\n<p>As the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/12\/05\/well\/ozempic-microdose-weight-loss.html\" class=\"underline hover:text-neoscope hover:no-underline transition-all duration-200 ease-in-out\" style=\"text-decoration-color:#ff9900\"><em>New York Times<\/em> reports<\/a>, doctors are intrigued \u2014 if not concerned \u2014 by the rise in the practice of taking lower doses of weight-loss injectables like semaglutide, especially when it comes to those who say it works to help them lose and keep off weight while minimizing side effects and saving money.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There\u2019s this desire for ultra-personalization,&#8221; Andrew Kraftson, a Michigan Medicine clinical associate professor, told the newspaper. &#8220;I can understand that and affirm it. But we don\u2019t have guidance to tell people to do microdosing on their own.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>There are plenty of reasons to want to take lower doses of these drugs, which belong to a class of medications called glucagon-like peptide-1 inhibitors or agonists (GLP-1s) that are believed to mimic the gut&#8217;s feeling of fullness. The main rationales, however, seem to be a desire to avoid side effects or to keep off weight previously lost on a full dose \u2014 nevermind slashing the drugs&#8217; astonishing monthly costs.<\/p>\n<p>Because such off-label usages aren&#8217;t tracked, we can&#8217;t say for sure how many people are microdosing Ozempic \u2014 but given that <a href=\"https:\/\/futurism.com\/neoscope\/ozempic-microdosing\" class=\"underline hover:text-neoscope hover:no-underline transition-all duration-200 ease-in-out\" style=\"text-decoration-color:#ff9900\">influencers are preaching the practice&#8217;s benefits<\/a> and even <a href=\"https:\/\/www.drtyna.com\/offers\/VstUywXc\/checkout\" class=\"underline hover:text-neoscope hover:no-underline transition-all duration-200 ease-in-out\" style=\"text-decoration-color:#ff9900\">selling expensive &#8220;courses<\/a>&#8221; on how to hack their dosages, an uptick is clearly upon us.<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, when we ran &#8220;microdosing Ozempic&#8221; through a <a href=\"https:\/\/trends.google.com\/trends\/explore?geo=US&amp;q=microdosing%20ozempic&amp;hl=en\" class=\"underline hover:text-neoscope hover:no-underline transition-all duration-200 ease-in-out\" style=\"text-decoration-color:#ff9900\">Google Trends keyword analysis<\/a>, it&#8217;s clear that there&#8217;ve been massive spikes in interest compared to a year ago.<\/p>\n<p>Among the practice&#8217;s earliest adopters is Michael Hammer, a 47-year-old who was prescribed Ozempic years ago and who told the <em>NYT<\/em> that he had gotten very nauseous from his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ozempic.com\/how-to-take\/ozempic-dosing.html\" class=\"underline hover:text-neoscope hover:no-underline transition-all duration-200 ease-in-out\" style=\"text-decoration-color:#ff9900\">regular-sized dose<\/a>, which begins at 0.25 milligrams once per week before titrating up to 0.5 mg after a month.<\/p>\n<p>Hammer said he was ready to &#8220;give it up&#8221; instead of getting sick when he reached out to Calibrate, the telehealth firm he got his original prescription through. An employee there told him he should try microdosing it in 2022, and he did. Today, he&#8217;s pretty happy with the 50 pounds he&#8217;s lost over the past few years by increasing his exercise and dieting with the help of the drug&#8217;s hunger-suppressing effects \u2014 although it still makes him a little queasy, he reports.<\/p>\n<p>In an email to the\u00a0<em>NYT<\/em>, Calibrate executive Sarah Baker said &#8220;microdosing has been utilized as a strategy to mitigate&#8221; such side effects, which are &#8220;well-documented&#8221; throughout the industry. Though she&#8217;s correct on the latter half, there&#8217;s a vacuum of data to support the former \u2014 though according to Daniel Drucker, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jci.org\/articles\/view\/175634\" class=\"underline hover:text-neoscope hover:no-underline transition-all duration-200 ease-in-out\" style=\"text-decoration-color:#ff9900\">one of the first doctors to study GLP-1s<\/a>, it&#8217;s probably not harmful in the long run.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I\u2019m not concerned that they\u2019re going to grow three arms, or have something horrible happen to them,&#8221; the Mount Sinai Hospital Toronto researcher said.<\/p>\n<p>As the\u00a0<em>NYT<\/em> notes, those who do lose or keep weight off with GLP-1 microdoses could be considered &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/health\/archive\/2024\/08\/ozempic-hackers\/679464\/\" class=\"underline hover:text-neoscope hover:no-underline transition-all duration-200 ease-in-out\" style=\"text-decoration-color:#ff9900\">super responders<\/a>&#8221; to the drugs.
