Widespread, heavy rain is expected to soak the Deep South, potentially leading to significant <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/flood\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">flooding<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The FOX Forecast Center said some areas could see over 3 inches of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/precipitation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rain<\/a> through Wednesday, providing drought relief for many. A warm front will position itself along the northern Gulf Coast, confining the worst rain to places like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/louisiana\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Louisiana<\/a> and southern Alabama. Places like New Orleans and Mobile are on the bullseye to start the workweek.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/app\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>DOWNLOAD THE FREE FOX WEATHER APP<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<div data-v-b8684aba=\"\">\n<div class=\"freeform-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/media.foxweather.com\/weather\/South%20Multi-Day%20Flash%20Flood%20Outlook.png?v3\"\/><figcaption>The multiday flash flood threat across the South.<br \/><strong>(FOX Weather)<\/strong><\/figcaption><hr\/>\n<p>\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">As this low organizes and rapidly lifts north, a powerful <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/what-is-a-cold-front\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cold front<\/a> will form, pulling an abundant amount of moisture from the Gulf, the FOX Forecast Center said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Late Tuesday will be the biggest period for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/7-facts-you-should-know-about-flash-floods\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">flash flooding<\/a> as the threat grows to cover cities from Atlanta to Mobile and eventually the entire East Coast.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">When all is said and done, rain totals across <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/texas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Texas<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/louisiana\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Louisiana<\/a>, Alabama, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/georgia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Georgia<\/a> will add up to a widespread 2-3 inches, with locally higher amounts of more than 5 inches possible.
