That breaks the record previously held by a comedy or musical motion picture, surpassing <em>Barbie<\/em>, which scored a total of nine noms last year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t<em>Emilia P\u00e9rez<\/em> was followed on the film side by <em>The Brutalist <\/em>with seven noms, <em>Conclave<\/em> with six, and <em>Anora<\/em> and <em>The Substance <\/em>with five each. <em>The Bear<\/em> leads the TV nominees with five total mentions, followed by <em>Only Murders in the Building<\/em> and <em>Shogun<\/em> with four each.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tOverall, Netflix leads all distributors with a total of 26 noms (13 in film, 23 in TV). A24 follows in film with 12 mentions, and HBO\/Max comes in second in TV with 14.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tMindy Kaling (<em>The Sex Lives of College Girls<\/em>) and Morris Chestnut (<em>Watson<\/em>) revealed the nominees across 27 categories, with the announcement streamed live on <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/mindy-kaling-morris-chestnut-2025-golden-globe-nominees\/\" target=\"_blank\">CBS News\u2019 website<\/a>, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@CBSNews\" target=\"_blank\">YouTube channel<\/a> and <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/mobile\/\" target=\"_blank\">mobile app<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe Golden Globes recognize achievements across film and TV, with categories for cinematic and box office achievement in film and best performance in stand-up comedy on television, which were introduced last year and are set to return this year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe award for best cinematic and box office achievement includes eight nominees chosen from films that achieved \u201ca gross box office receipt total of at least $150 million, of which $100 million must come from the U.S. domestic box office, and\/or obtain commensurate digital streaming viewership according to recognized trusted industry sources within the qualifying year,\u201d according to the Globes\u2019 eligibility rules. Films released after Nov. 22 through the end of the year \u201cmay qualify based on projected box office performance and\/or streaming views from recognized industry sources.\u201d Golden Globes voters will then determine the nominees and winners in this category \u201cbased on excellence\u201d from among the films that meet the box office and streaming viewership criteria.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tFor this category, the Golden Globes has this year partnered with data company Luminate, owned by Penske Media Eldridge, a joint venture between Penske Media Corporation and Eldridge that also owns <em>The Hollywood Reporter <\/em>and Golden Globes owner and producer Dick Clark Productions. Luminate will provide streaming viewership data for all submitted films in the cinematic and box office acheivement category, with analysis done via Luminate\u2019s Streaming Viewership product. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tBest performance in stand-up comedy on television, recognizes comedians who gave \u201cperformances of traditional stand-up comedy of at least 30 consecutive minutes, other than roles in television series, limited series, anthology series or motion pictures made for television\u201d on \u201ca recognized media platform (individual social media accounts do not qualify),\u201d according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/awards\/\" id=\"auto-tag_awards_1\" data-tag=\"awards\">awards<\/a> rules.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe 82nd annual Golden Globe Awards is set to air live from the Beverly Hilton on CBS and stream on Paramount+ on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/golden-globes-2025-date-ceremony-nominations-announcement-1235863772\/\">Sunday, Jan. 5, 2025<\/a> at 5 p.m. PT\/8 p.m. ET.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-news\/nikki-glaser-host-2025-golden-globes-1235985871\/\">Nikki Glaser will host<\/a> the 2025 Golden Globes, and Emmy-winning producers Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner are set to serve as showrunners, for the second year in a row. It was previously announced that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/golden-globes-2025-viola-davis-cecil-b-demille-award-1236067227\/\">Viola Davis<\/a> will receive the Cecil B.
