Evans in the Captain America costume seems less likely. However, it wouldn\u2019t be a shock if he reprises Steve Rogers.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tEvans recently had a cameo in the highest grossing R-rated movie of all-time, the MCU\u2019s <em>Deadpool &amp; Wolverine, <\/em>as his character from the Fox\/Marvel early aughts days, which are also pre-<em>Captain America<\/em>: Johnny Storm from the <em>Fantastic Four<\/em> movies. Evans\u2019 core Disney MCU canon character, Steve Rogers, was last seen in the Russos\u2019 <em>Avengers: Endgame. <\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAs Deadline previously reported, expect many MCU OG characters to return in the Russo Brothers\u2019 latest. As unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con back in July, Robert Downey Jr. ne Iron Man will be stepping into the role as the main baddie, Dr. Doom \u2014 if that isn\u2019t upside down multi-universe enough.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tEvans was always iffy as he would need a strong reason to return. The new <em>Fantastic Four <\/em>of Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, Vanessa Kirby and Ebon Moss-Bachrach are also set to star in <em>Avengers: Doomsday. <\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe Russos also previously helmed the MCU\u2019s <em>Avengers: Infinity War, Captain America Winter Soldier and Captain America Civil War<\/em>. <em>Avengers: Endgame <\/em>ranks as the second highest grossing movie of all-time with $2.799 billion. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<em>Avengers: Doomsday<\/em> hits theaters on May 1, 2026.
