{"id":135730,"date":"2024-12-11T07:24:46","date_gmt":"2024-12-11T00:24:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hotvideos24.online\/?p=135730"},"modified":"2024-12-11T07:24:46","modified_gmt":"2024-12-11T00:24:46","slug":"why-lin-manuel-miranda-didnt-return-for-moana-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hotvideos24.online\/?p=135730","title":{"rendered":"Why Lin-Manuel Miranda Didn&#8217;t Return for &#8216;Moana 2&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\r\n     data-ad-layout-key=\"-fb+5w+4e-db+86\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"7910942971\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/lin-manuel-miranda\/\" id=\"auto-tag_lin-manuel-miranda_1\" data-tag=\"lin-manuel-miranda\">Lin-Manuel Miranda<\/a>, who received an Oscar nomination for \u201cHow Far I\u2019ll Go\u201d from <em>Moana, <\/em>opened up about why he didn\u2019t return for its <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/moana-2-box-office-records-broken-1236074175\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/moana-2-box-office-records-broken-1236074175\/\">record-breaking sequel, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/moana-2\/\" id=\"auto-tag_moana-2_1\" data-tag=\"moana-2\">Moana 2<\/a><\/em><\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe award-winning artist sat down with <em>The Hollywood Reporter <\/em>ahead of the release of <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/mufasa\/\" id=\"auto-tag_mufasa_1\" data-tag=\"mufasa\">Mufasa<\/a>: The Lion King<\/em> and explained that it wasn\u2019t a choice between working on the <em>Lion King <\/em>prequel and <em>Moana 2<\/em>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cIt didn\u2019t line up that way actually,\u201d he said. \u201cI got the script for <em>Mufasa<\/em> when I had just finished <em>Encanto<\/em>, and so I started working on that at the top of \u201922. So, <em>Moana 2 <\/em>was already in process as a TV series with Emily [Bear] and Abigail [Barlow]. So then, when that decision got made to turn that into a movie, they were already cooking.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tDespite not being asked to return for the film, again voice starring Auli\u02bbi Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson, the <em>Hamilton <\/em>creator did get a chance to hear Bear and Barlow\u2019s music for it.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cThey\u2019re so talented,\u201d he said. \u201cMore than anything, what\u2019s so thrilling is we hired Auli\u2019i when she was 14 years old, and the stuff she\u2019s singing in this new film is so just technically difficult, to see how far she\u2019s come as a performer is really extraordinary.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"\/>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tMiranda wrote the music for the first film. \u201cHow Far I\u2019ll Go\u201d was nominated for best original song at the Oscars and Golden Globes, as well as best song written for visual media at the Grammys, which it won. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tWhen <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/lin-manuel-miranda-writing-songs-mufasa-the-lion-king-1236076104\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/lin-manuel-miranda-writing-songs-mufasa-the-lion-king-1236076104\/\">creating the soundtrack for <em>Mufasa<\/em><\/a><em>, <\/em>he explained that when it comes to telling the story about Mufasa and Scar, it\u2019s almost like going in the opposite direction of what everyone knows about them from <em>The Lion King.<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cI read the script, and I was just so surprised by it,\u201d he told <em>THR <\/em>at its world premiere. \u201cEverything I thought I knew about Mufasa and Scar was totally upside down, and I could see very clearly where the songs went. <em>The Lion King <\/em>is so beloved by so many people, including myself, so I just wanted to do right by it.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tHe noted that the most fun part of working on the music for the prequel was leaning into the part audiences don\u2019t know: \u201cThis is a story of two brothers who adore each other, and how do we get from that to the way we met Mufasa and Scar in the original?\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tAnother draw for Miranda was the opportunity to work with<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/mufasa-director-barry-jenkins-cgi-filmmaking-not-my-thing-1236079092\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/mufasa-director-barry-jenkins-cgi-filmmaking-not-my-thing-1236079092\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> director Barry Jenkins<\/a>, who he called \u201cone of our great filmmakers,\u201d noting that he \u201cwas honored that he asked me.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"\/>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tWhile speaking with <em>THR <\/em>before<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/mufasa-billy-eichner-timon-pumbaa-prequel-seth-rogen-1236082479\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/mufasa-billy-eichner-timon-pumbaa-prequel-seth-rogen-1236082479\/\"> the <em>Mufasa <\/em>premiere<\/a>, Jenkins and Miranda shared their memories of <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/james-earl-jones-dead-darth-vader-1235996060\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/james-earl-jones-dead-darth-vader-1235996060\/\">the late James Earl Jones<\/a>, who voiced the character in the original animated film and 2019\u2019s <em>The Lion King <\/em>live-action. (The prequel opens with a tribute to the actor.) <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cBeing someone Black in Hollywood, you have these mentors, these people you look up to,\u201d Jenkins shared of the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/mark-hamill-hollywood-tribute-james-earl-jones-1235996065\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/mark-hamill-hollywood-tribute-james-earl-jones-1235996065\/\">late icon<\/a>. \u201cSo I met him very briefly in the past but not in regards to a particular project. But when he did pass, it was very clear. I grew up without a father figure. This character, in some ways, became a father figure, so it felt very appropriate to find a way to honor him.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tJones\u2019 legend extended beyond the big screen to Broadway where he had a huge career as well. Miranda recalled seeing him perform several times and crossing paths with him once in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cOne of my most memorable days was when I first performed a song from <em>Hamilton<\/em> at the White House in 2008,\u201d the <em>In the Heights <\/em>creator shared. \u201cHe was performing Othello\u2019s big monologue to the Senate, and so my day started with splitting a van with James Earl Jones to the White House. And I remember saying, like, \u2018If this is where the day ends, it\u2019s already the best day of my life.\u2019 He was incredible.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tJenkins also looked back on the days when <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/beyonce-jay-z-mufasa-premiere-daughter-blue-ivy-1236082281\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/beyonce-jay-z-mufasa-premiere-daughter-blue-ivy-1236082281\/\">Blue Ivy Carter<\/a> was performing her scenes for <em>Mufasa<\/em> and how Beyonc\u00e9 let them have their own process as director and actor. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cI will say, like a mother, she would stay behind and watch as Blue performed her scenes,\u201d he said. \u201cIt was really wonderful to see the pride that she took and also, too, I have to say, when your mom is the sun, the moon and the stars, it can be quite intimidating. And I give Beyonc\u00e9 so much credit because she did everything in her power to make that not the case on the days where they were working together.
