a series of odd symptoms that blighted her for months, including\u00a0back pain, <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/weight_loss\/index.html\" id=\"mol-1cb8f2c0-b7d3-11ef-9575-530c1dfebc8c\" rel=\"noopener\">weight loss<\/a>, strange bruises and fatigue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The mother-of-one put the troubling problems down to being run down following the birth of her son, Caiden, in October 2022 \u2014 nine months before her symptoms began.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Never did she expect doctors to discover deadly tumours in both breasts, her spine, lungs and ribs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">&#8216;I was devastated and terrified,&#8217; she told her 38,000 <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/tvshowbiz\/tiktok\/index.html\" id=\"mol-1cb80860-b7d3-11ef-9575-530c1dfebc8c\" rel=\"noopener\">TikTok<\/a> followers about her diagnosis.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">&#8216;I can&#8217;t leave my boys [her husband and son] and have my baby grow up without me.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Ms Halpin&#8217;s ordeal began in early summer 2023, when she noticed she was losing weight unintentionally.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">She assumed she had &#8216;just got lucky&#8217; and started to lose the baby weight far earlier than she expected.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Another symptom she recalled was fatigue, which she assumed was the result of being kept up at night by a crying newborn.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">She told her TikTok following that she&#8217;d also noticed a lot of &#8216;random bruising&#8217; all over her arms and legs, which she didn&#8217;t consider to be a\u00a0<span style=\"font-family: var(--mol-default-font-family); font-size: 16px;\">&#8216;big deal&#8217; and thought they were causes by her dogs bashing into her.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">But then a new, alarming symptom appeared that was difficult to dismiss \u2014 agonising back pain.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">When the problem didn&#8217;t subside in August, she decided to see a\u00a0chiropractor, which ultimately failed to ease the pain.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Then, on the day of her son&#8217;s first birthday party in October 2023, the agony had become so unbearable she found herself unable to get up off the bathroom floor after trying to give her baby a bath.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Exasperated, she visited the local emergency room the following day, where doctors conducted blood tests and discovered abnormalities.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Doctors believed she may be suffering with a\u00a0gallbladder problem, but sent her home and told her to return for a check-up a few weeks later.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Within this time, Ms Halpin had discovered a strange change to the appearence of her nipple.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">&#8216;I was getting in the shower and noticed my nipple appeared to be pushed in from the side, like it was inverted,&#8217; she said, adding that a lump seemed to have formed beneath the surface.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">She sought a mammogram, which failed to show any tumours. This is also known as stage 4 breast cancer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Around 55,000 women and 370 men are diagnosed with breast cancer each year in the UK, says Breast Cancer Now.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Meanwhile, roughly 300,000 new cases of breast cancer are diagnosed in women every year in the US.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The usual first symptom is a painless lump in the breast, although most are not cancerous and are fluid filled cysts, which are benign.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The first place that breast cancer usually spreads to is the lymph nodes in the armpit.
