All you children gather round, we will dance \u2014 together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tWhether that sense of togetherness was one you felt when pushed up against the rail while seeing your favorite artist alongside your best friends and the news pals you just met in the pit, or the old acquaintances you were delighted to run into on the dancefloor, or just that most special relationship between a person and their headphones, in 2024 dance music brilliantly accomplished what it has a special capacity to do \u2014 make us feel connected. The New York artist again demonstrated that ability on his third studio album <em>Black Sheep<\/em> (out on Tokimonsta\u2019s Young Art Records) and its positively simmering February single \u201cDo Dat Baby.\u201d A collaboration with the reliably excellent Dawn Richard, the track balances smooth production with Cakes\u2019 elastic and unmistakable flow, where here celebrates his sex appeal while talking about \u201cpics on the gram, got these boys try to ravage.\u201d  \u2014 <em>K. Another revisit of the \u201800s club sounds that remained very en vogue this year, this time they venture into euphoric piano house with cascading breaks and glowing synths.
