It leads to other drugs,\u201d John said. \u201cAnd when you\u2019re stoned \u2014 and I\u2019ve been stoned \u2014 you don\u2019t think normally. Legalizing marijuana in America and Canada is one of the greatest mistakes of all time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tTime reported that John has helped several other artists recover from their addictions since going sober himself, serving as Eminem\u2019s sponsor and sending British pop star Robbie Williams on his first trip to rehab. One performer he was unable to help was George Michael.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s tough to tell someone that they\u2019re being an asshole, and it\u2019s tough to hear,\u201d John said. \u201cEventually I made the choice to admit that I\u2019m being an asshole.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tJohn, who was first introduced to cocaine in the mid \u201970s by his lover-turned-manager John Reid, explained that his views on marijuana stem from his own personal battles with drug addiction.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cYou make terrible decisions on drugs,\u201d he said. \u201cI wanted love so badly, I\u2019d just take hostages. I\u2019d see someone I liked and spend three or four months together, and then they would resent me because they had nothing in their life apart from me.
