{"id":136966,"date":"2024-12-14T14:31:58","date_gmt":"2024-12-14T07:31:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hotvideos24.online\/?p=136966"},"modified":"2024-12-14T14:31:58","modified_gmt":"2024-12-14T07:31:58","slug":"drones-spotted-over-us-air-base-in-ramstein-dw-12-13-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hotvideos24.online\/?p=136966","title":{"rendered":"Drones spotted over US air base in Ramstein \u2013 DW \u2013 12\/13\/2024"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\r\n     data-ad-layout-key=\"-fb+5w+4e-db+86\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"7910942971\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>German authorities said on Friday that unidentified <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/drones\/t-38577815\">drones<\/a> had been spotted flying over sensitive military and industrial sites.<\/p>\n<p>Among the sites was the <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/us-military-in-germany-what-you-need-to-know\/a-49998340\">US air base at Ramstein<\/a> in the western state of <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/rhineland-palatinate\/t-18967902\">Rhineland-Palatinate<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>What do we know about the sightings?<\/h2>\n<p>The sightings were first reported by Germany&#8217;s <em>Der Spiegel<\/em> magazine.<\/p>\n<p>It cited a report from German security authorities saying that several drone sightings were registered over the Ramstein base late on December 3 and 4.<\/p>\n<p><em>Der Spiegel<\/em> said that unidentified drones were also sighted over facilities belonging to German arms maker Rheinmetall.<\/p>\n<p>Unidentified <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/germany-investigates-drone-flights-over-industrial-park\/a-70021895\">drones were also seen over the Brunsb\u00fcttel area<\/a> of northern <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/schleswig-holstein\/t-18967619\">Schleswig-Holstein<\/a> state in August.<\/p>\n<p>Media reports said officials believed at the time that the drones were part of a Russian espionage campaign.<\/p>\n<p>However, the ARD broadcaster reported on Friday that investigations into the sightings in Brunsb\u00fcttel have as of yet unearthed no indications of espionage.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"placeholder-image master_landscape big\"><img data-format=\"MASTER_LANDSCAPE\" data-id=\"61596679\" data-url=\"https:\/\/static.dw.com\/image\/61596679_${formatId}.jpg\" data-aspect-ratio=\"16\/9\" alt=\"US Air Force Ramstein Air Base sign on wall\" style=\"padding-bottom: 56.25%;
