Blackmagic\u2019s new camera could change that. The <a data-i13n=\"cpos:2;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.blackmagicdesign.com\/media\/release\/20241217-01\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive;cpos:2;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \"><\/a> is the first camera that can shoot in Apple\u2019s Immersive Video format, and it\u2019s available to pre-order now for $29,995 and shipping in \u201clate Q1 2025.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Blackmagic <a data-i13n=\"cpos:3;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/blackmagic-is-developing-a-camera-for-immersive-apple-vision-pro-videos-022834820.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:first announced;cpos:3;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \"><\/a> it was working on hardware and software for producing content for the Vision Pro at <a data-i13n=\"cpos:4;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/wwdc\/\" data-ylk=\"slk:WWDC 2024;cpos:4;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \"><\/a>. As promised then, the camera is capable of capturing 3D footage at 90 fps, with a resolution of 8160 x 7200 per eye. A normal 12K URSA Cine camera costs around $15,000, but doesn\u2019t include lenses or built-in storage. Blackmagic\u2019s camera should make it possible for a lot more immersive content to be created for the Vision Pro and other VR headsets.
