The tune from the closing credits \u2013 \u201cWill and Harper Go West,\u201d written by <em>SNL<\/em> alum <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/kristen-wiig\/\" id=\"auto-tag_kristen-wiig\" data-tag=\"kristen-wiig\">Kristen Wiig<\/a> and Sean Douglas and performed by Wiig \u2013 got shortlisted for Best Original Song (Douglas is the son of actor Michael Keaton).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tBut another high-profile documentary in the running for the shortlist didn\u2019t make the cut: <em><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/super-man-the-christopher-reeve-story\/\" id=\"auto-tag_super-man-the-christopher-reeve-story\" data-tag=\"super-man-the-christopher-reeve-story\">Super\/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story<\/a><\/em>, about the late actor who was paralyzed in a horse-riding accident. That film, directed by Ian Bonh\u00f4te and Peter Ettedgui, recently won Best Documentary Feature at the Critics Choice Documentary Awards, and last week earned a nomination for the Producers Guild of America Award. [Scroll for full list of shortlisted features and short documentaries]<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAside from <em>Will &amp; Harper<\/em>, feature documentaries with a celebrity element did not fare particularly well in shortlist voting (the list is determined by the Academy\u2019s Documentary Branch, which will also choose the eventual five Oscar nominees in the category). Also snubbed were <em>I Am: Celine Dion<\/em> about the French Canadian chanteuse; <em>Elton John: Never Too Late<\/em>; <em>Martha<\/em>, about lifestyle doyenne Martha Stewart; <em>Luther: Never Too Much<\/em>, about the late singer-songwriter Luther Vandross; <em>Music by John Williams<\/em>, about the Oscar-winning composer; and <em>Piece by Piece<\/em>, Oscar winner Morgan Neville\u2019s film on music producer, singer and songwriter Pharrell Williams, done entirely with LEGO animation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tHowever, the Pharrell doc and the Elton John film did earn places on the Original Song shortlist. Two previous Oscar winners got snubbed: Errol Morris for his documentary <em>Separated<\/em>, and Asif Kapadia for <em>2073<\/em>. One of the biggest surprises to make the shortlist: <em>The Bibi Files<\/em>, directed by Alexis Bloom and produced by Oscar winner Alex Gibney. The documentary,<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/video\/the-bibi-files-trailer-benjamin-netanyahu-corruption-investigation-documentary\/\"> a blistering portrait<\/a> of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that foregrounds a longstanding corruption investigation against him, made the cut despite having no major distributor or streamer. Despite having no U.S. distribution, the film has won about four dozen awards around the world.<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-content-image \/\/  \">\n<figure class=\"o-figure   aligncenter size-full aligncenter lrv-u-max-width-100p\" style=\"width:100%;
