There\u2019s no vibe of, \u2018We\u2019re at an audition. Hey, what\u2019s up? Hi, how are you? Nice to meet you,&#8217;\u201d she recalled. \u201cIt\u2019s just so awkward. I go in, I\u2019m like, \u2018So, where do you want to start first?\u2019 And he\u2019s, like, \u2018Oh no, no, we\u2019re not going to do the scene.\u2019 I was like, \u2018OK, It\u2019s three days of my life.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe audition process was different and Coppola asked the actors to improvise scenes with Cummings adding, \u201cHe would just throw things at me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tCummings said that one of the prompts was to bid farewell to her son going off to war using an English accent. Another thing she was asked to improvise was confront her husband using an Australian accent. All of this made Cummings belief she was being punked, saying, \u201cBecause I did the show Punk\u2019d, I was like, if I\u2019m being punked, this is actually genius.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tShe continued, \u201cI started glazing over, and then he was, like, \u2018That was great.\u2019 I don\u2019t know where I went. I just completely disassociated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cI am improvising my head off to just nothing,\u201d she said. \u201cWhy am I acting with him? He\u2019s, like, \u2018It\u2019s going to be me and we\u2019re going to improvise the scene.\u2019 I\u2019m, like, \u2018But you don\u2019t [improvise].\u2019 Has anyone ever told you the truth since Apocalypse Now? Right? Has anyone told you the truth? No.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tBy the end of the process, Cummings said she was \u201cso embarrassed\u201d and said the director gave her a \u201csifne copy of his new book,\u201d adding, \u201cHe signed it in front of me as if I had shown up to an autograph signing as if I wanted [it]. Like, thank you. And then gave me a bottle of Francis Ford Coppola wine. It was just so humiliating \u2014 that\u2019s the only [word] \u2014 and so confounding in that moment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<em>Megalopolis<\/em> grossed over $13M at the box office worldwide with an estimated budget of $120M.
