Epic is a privately-held company.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tTencent, in addition to being an investor in Epic, also owns Riot Games, the developer of<em> League of Legends<\/em> and other game franchises.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tSection 8 of the Clayton Act prohibits directors and officers from serving simultaneously on the boards of competitors, subject to limited exceptions. The DOJ has been active in investigating companies that it fears may be violating the Act.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tEarlier this year two members of the Warner Bros. Discovery board (both members of the Newhouse family) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/business\/business-news\/steven-newhouse-steve-miron-resign-warner-bros-discovery-board-antitrust-investigation-1235864197\/\">stepped aside<\/a> owing to their board positions at Charter Communications. And John Malone exited as director emeritus of Charter as well, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/business\/business-news\/john-malone-exits-charter-board-wbd-clayton-act-1235878066\/\">also citing<\/a> Clayton Act concerns.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cScrutiny around interlocking directorates continues to be an enforcement priority for the Antitrust Division,\u201d said Deputy Director of Civil Enforcement Miriam R.
