What if I told you that as of Wednesday night, you can purchase a backpack for your avatar, and not just any backpack \u2014 a skibidi toilet one.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">OK, so now you\u2019re more confused. After all, skibidi \u2014 <a class=\"css-yywogo\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/11\/08\/style\/gen-alpha-slang.html\" title=\"\">Gen Alpha slang<\/a> \u2014 has caused much head-scratching over the last year or so.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">But the term has only gained steam since early 2023, and its arrival on Fortnite, a last-man-standing battle royale with <a class=\"css-yywogo\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/12\/02\/arts\/music\/juice-wrld-fortnite-video-games.html\" title=\"\">500 million user accounts and 110 million monthly players<\/a>, will only increase that. The much memed, much analyzed coinage might deserve a closer look.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<aside class=\"css-ew4tgv\" aria-label=\"companion column\"\/><\/div>\n<div data-testid=\"companionColumn-1\">\n<div class=\"css-53u6y8\">\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Good luck, future historians.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"css-13o6u42 eoo0vm40\" id=\"link-3539b597\">Skibi-what?<\/h2>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Skibidi toilet, skibidi Ohio rizz \u2014 it may all be Greek to you, but the term and its variants have become part of younger generations\u2019 vernacular.
