Cities including Philadelphia, Boston and New York could see up to 2 inches of snow as this weather system moves in Friday through Saturday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Cities from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/new-york\/new-york-city\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/massachusetts\/boston\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Boston<\/a> could see their first measurable <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/snow\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">snow<\/a> of the season as we head into the final weekend before <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/weather-news\/christmas-travel-weather-forecast-us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Christmas<\/a> as an incoming weather system sets up the Interstate 95 corridor for a period of potentially slippery <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">travel<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The leftovers of a fast-moving weather system coming out of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/canada\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Canada<\/a>, known as an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/what-is-an-alberta-clipper\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alberta Clipper<\/a>, will move into the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/northeast\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Northeast<\/a> by Friday afternoon, bringing some of the ingredients needed for measurable snowfall. Meanwhile, a coastal low off the East Coast will bring additional energy spinning up off the Carolinas. How these two systems interact could mean more or less snow for some.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div data-v-b8684aba=\"\">\n<div class=\"freeform-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/media.foxweather.com\/weather\/East%20Snow%20Setup.png\"\/><fig-caption>The weather setup for I-95 corridor on Friday.\u00a0<br \/><strong>(FOX Weather)<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<p>\u00a0<\/fig-caption><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">&#8220;You sometimes get what&#8217;s called an East Coast energy transfer, where you get the energy from the clipper system that almost gets absorbed into this East Coast storm as this thing rolls up the coastline,&#8221; FOX Weather Meteorologist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/person\/e\/michael-estime\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Michael Estime<\/a> said. &#8220;That means it could put places like Boston, New York, maybe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/pennsylvania\/philadelphia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Philly<\/a>, in line for some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/precipitation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">precipitation<\/a>, hopefully in the form of snow for some folks in Boston.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/weather-news\/christmas-travel-2024-live-maps-weather-delays\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>CHRISTMAS TRAVEL TRACKER: LIVE MAPS, AIRPORT STATUS, FLIGHT DELAYS, FORECAST AND MORE<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Impacts from the potential snowfall will be felt through Saturday along northern parts of the I-95 corridor.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div data-v-b8684aba=\"\">\n<div class=\"freeform-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/media.foxweather.com\/weather\/I-95%20WPC%20Snow%20Probability.png\"\/><fig-caption>Snow possibility through Saturday.<br \/><strong>(FOX Weather)<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<p>\u00a0<\/fig-caption><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The best chances for accumulating snow will be from Friday night into Saturday morning.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Boston, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/rhode-island\/providence\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Providence<\/a> in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/rhode-island\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rhode Island<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/connecticut\/bridgeport\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bridgeport<\/a> in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/connecticut\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Connecticut<\/a> could receive between 1 and 3 inches of snow, but New York City is less likely to experience snow.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">However, don&#8217;t yet count the Big Apple out for snow. How much moisture are we going to have in play? Where does that low set up? Where&#8217;s the cold air?
