The restrictions, which are limited to 400 feet of altitude, are strictly for drones and not civilian airplanes or helicopters.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm4vk8y1100043b6me9rao1n4@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            \u201cAt the request of federal security partners, the FAA published 22 Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) prohibiting drone flights over critical New Jersey infrastructure,\u201d the agency said in a statement.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm4w62xbg00003b6mbwqtdiud@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            Later Thursday, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul also announced a temporary ban on flights over critical infrastructure sites across New York state, describing the decision as \u201cpurely precautionary.\u201d Hochul did not provide further details on what sites would be covered, to what degree flights would be banned, and for how long.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm4vk8y1100053b6macvxh3dr@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            The dual announcements come as public officials have repeatedly said there is no threat to safety or national security with the increase in alleged <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2024\/12\/15\/us\/drone-sightings-east-coast\/index.html\">drone sightings in the Northeast<\/a>.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm4vk8y1100063b6mn5xw4k4j@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            Among the power stations with flight restrictions are Cedar Grove Switching Station, Athenia Switching Station, Hudson Switching Station, PSE&amp;G Kearny Switching Station, and Bayonne Switching Station.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm4vk8y1100073b6mws9r3n2k@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            The new tranche of airspace restrictions is the largest since the drone panic began about a month ago and will last until January 17.
