In Mississippi, one death occurred in Natchez and another in Lowndes County.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Further north, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/weather-news\/severe-weather-southeast-atlanta-charlotte\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a deadly incident occurred in North Carolina&#8217;s Iredell County on Sunday morning<\/a> when a tree fell on a vehicle along Highway 152.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">A rare <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/what-is-a-particularly-dangerous-situation-tornado-watch\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Particularly Dangerous Situation Tornado Watch<\/a> was issued Saturday afternoon for east Texas, southeast Arkansas, much of Louisiana, and western Mississippi. data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/weather-news\/drone-video-tornado-damage-houston-area-december-2024\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Severe storms rolled through the greater Houston area on Saturday<\/a>, causing significant damage and at least one fatality on the outskirts of the city.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The National Weather Service confirmed at least six tornadoes had touched down, with reports of destruction in Katy, Porter Heights, Splendora, Alvin and Smith Point.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Drone video showed several buildings suffering The East Montgomery Fire Department was directly impacted, though thankfully, no injuries were reported to their team. After it was over with, we stood up and \u2026. we didn&#8217;t have a splinter on us. We didn&#8217;t have a speck of dust on us.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">This isn&#8217;t the first time O&#8217;Zion Church has faced adversity. Church secretary Phyllis Daniels Whittington said that another tornado struck the church on May 5, 1934.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Despite the recent devastation, the congregation remains resolute.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">&#8220;We&#8217;re all devastated,&#8221; Whittington said. &#8220;But we know (God) has a future, a bright future for us.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"featured featured-video video-ct\">\n<div class=\"video-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"info\">\n<div class=\"caption\">\n<p class=\"sub-text\">The O&#8217;Zion Church in Meadville, Mississippi was devastated by a likely tornado on Saturday night.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">National Weather Service teams are still conducting damage assessments in Franklin County to determine the strength of the tornado that destroyed the church.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Two people died following Saturday night&#8217;s storms in Mississippi.
