The strongest storms will pack threats of damaging winds, large hail and tornadoes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><strong>JACKSON, Miss.<\/strong> \u2013 As a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/weather-news\/winter-storm-ice-freezing-rain-midwest-mid-atlantic-snow\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">coast-to-coast winter storm slices across the U.S.<\/a> Sunday and Monday, severe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/thunderstorms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thunderstorms<\/a> are expected to fire up across portions of the South on the warm side of the storm system.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/severe-weather\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">severe weather<\/a> threat kicks off Sunday afternoon and continues into the evening from the Sabine River Valley in East <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/texas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Texas<\/a> into parts of the mid-South and lower Mississippi Valley.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/weather-news\/winter-storm-live-tracker-radar-snowfall-maps-power-outage-forecasts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>WINTER STORM LIVE TRACKER: SNOWFALL MAPS, CURRENT ALERTS, POWER OUTAGE FORECASTS<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<div data-v-b8684aba=\"\">\n<div class=\"freeform-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/media.foxweather.com\/weather\/Digital_Radar.gif\"\/><figcaption>Three-hour radar loop showing where showers and thunderstorms are ongoing.<br \/><strong>(FOX Weather)<\/strong><\/figcaption><hr\/>\n<p>\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Damaging <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/wind\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wind<\/a> gusts, large <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/hail\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hail<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/tornadoes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tornadoes<\/a> will be the primary threats from any severe storms on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The highest threat of severe storms is expected to be centered over portions of northern <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/louisiana\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Louisiana<\/a>, western <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/mississippi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mississippi<\/a> and southeastern <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/arkansas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arkansas<\/a>, where NOAA&#8217;s Storm Prediction Center has issued a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/weather-geek-speak-severe-weather-categories-explained\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Level 3 out of 5 risk of severe weather<\/a>.
