system, which could produce feet of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/snow\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">snow<\/a> across portions of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/southwest\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Southwest<\/a> and Plains, while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/severe-weather\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">severe weather<\/a> could rock parts of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/southeast\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Southeast<\/a> and Gulf Coast that were recently slammed by a historic <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/blizzards\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">blizzard<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">This incoming storm is tied to the remnants of the same system that is bringing beneficial, yet threatening, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/weather-news\/los-angeles-wildfire-burn-scars-flood-watch-rain\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">widespread rain to Southern California starting rel=\"noopener\">California<\/a>, it will be &#8220;cut off&#8221; from the northern <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/what-is-the-jet-stream\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">jet stream<\/a>, forcing it to become a closed upper-level <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/why-is-atmospheric-pressure-so-important-to-the-forecast\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">low-pressure<\/a> system across the Southwest.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Once it becomes detached from the steering <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/wind\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">winds<\/a> high in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/atmosphere\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">atmosphere<\/a>, the system will begin to slow down. data-v-438398f6=\"\">The cold air will be somewhat limited, but enough arctic air will wrap around the system that a snowstorm could break out in parts of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/arizona\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arizona<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/new-mexico\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New Mexico<\/a> and portions of the Plains.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The FOX Forecast Center said that depending on the low\u2019s progression, some areas could pick up feet of
