A second system moves in Monday night prompting wind alerts for the region through Tuesday morning.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Cities and towns from the Great Lakes region to parts of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/northeast\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Northeast<\/a> are bracing for more <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/snow\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">snow<\/a> and strong <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/wind\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">winds<\/a> as the next in a series of fast-moving <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/what-is-an-alberta-clipper\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">clipper systems<\/a> threatens the region.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The strongest clipper in the ongoing parade will charge in on Monday night, bringing the potential for dangerous <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/what-are-snow-squalls-why-are-they-dangerous\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">snow squalls<\/a> with whiteout conditions and strong wind gusts up to 60 mph.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Nearly 27 million people are under <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/batten-down-the-hatches-what-you-should-know-about-high-wind-warnings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">High Wind Warnings<\/a> or Wind Advisories from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/illinois\/chicago\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chicago<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/wisconsin\/milwaukee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Milwaukee<\/a> eastward through portions of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/michigan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Michigan<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/pennsylvania\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pennsylvania<\/a> and upstate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/new-york\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/what-is-an-alberta-clipper\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>WHAT IS AN ALBERTA CLIPPER?<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<div data-v-b8684aba=\"\">\n<div class=\"freeform-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/media.foxweather.com\/weather\/Digital_Radar3.gif\"\/><figcaption>Three-hour radar loop showing where snow (blue) and rain (green) are ongoing.<br \/><strong>(FOX Weather)<\/strong><\/figcaption><hr\/>\n<p>\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">While the exact timing is still uncertain, snow and strong winds are expected to begin by Monday evening.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The strong winds will move inland off the Great Lakes, creating a risk of downed trees and scattered power outages.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">These winds are forecast to impact portions of Interstate 90 in western New York and Interstate 81 in north-central New York.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/earth-space\/dead-raccoons-canine-distemper-virus-william-floyd-estate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>DEAD RACCOONS FOUND AT NEW YORK HISTORICAL SITE PROMPT WARNINGS FOR PET OWNERS<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<div data-v-b8684aba=\"\">\n<div class=\"freeform-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/media.foxweather.com\/weather\/Great%20Lakes%20Wind%20Alerts.png\"\/><figcaption>Current wind alerts in the Great Lakes and Northeast.<br \/><strong>(FOX Weather)<\/strong><\/figcaption><hr\/>\n<p>\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">By early Tuesday morning, the FOX Forecast Center is monitoring the potential for strong snow squalls along the I-90 corridor.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The limiting factor for the snow will be the speed at which the clipper system moves through the area. If it moves too quickly, it will limit the snowfall intensity. However, if the squalls are able to tap into more storm energy, it could lead to heavier snow and dangerous whiteout conditions.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/watch\/play-79a12bd2d0005e0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>SAFETY TIPS FOR DRIVING THROUGH WINTER WEATHER<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n<div data-v-b8684aba=\"\">\n<div class=\"freeform-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/media.foxweather.com\/weather\/Great%20Lakes%20Snow%20QPF.png\"\/><figcaption>Snowfall forecast through Thursday.<br \/><strong>(FOX Weather)<\/strong><\/figcaption><hr\/>\n<p>\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Snow will continue to move south and east throughout the day Tuesday, with snow showers tapering off later Tuesday afternoon.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/new-york\/buffalo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Buffalo<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/new-york\/watertown\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Watertown<\/a> in New York are once again in the bull&#8217;s-eye for locally heavy snow. Through Sunday, Buffalo had seen 48.7 inches of snow so far this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/winter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">winter<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">After this system, another clipper will move through the region by midweek.
