(Video credit: Boom)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><strong>MOJAVE, Calif. <\/strong>\u2013 XB-1 became the first American-made private supersonic jet to fly faster than the speed of sound as Boom Supersonic works toward building a fleet of supersonic jets for commercial air <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">travel<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/colorado\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Colorado<\/a>-based Boom Supersonic is bringing a funky, fresh approach to airline travel. It aims to take passengers on supersonic travel by 2029. When XB-1 moved out of the hangar, it was about 43 degrees and sunny.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">&#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/wind\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Winds<\/a> and temperatures are within limits. Now, we just need the clouds to clear. But I think the clouds are clearing in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">America<\/a>,&#8221; Boom CEO Blake Scholl wrote on X.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/tech\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technological<\/a> achievement was brought to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/world\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">world<\/a> live online by another technological advancement. Boom aired the test flight on X using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/space-x\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SpaceX<\/a>&#8216;s Starlink internet onboard one of two chase aircraft following XB-1.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/earth-space\/boom-supersonic-jet-airliner-overture-travel-concorde\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>NEW AIRLINER \u2018OVERTURE\u2019 USHERS IN ERA OF SUPERSONIC TRAVEL WITH MAJOR AIRLINES COMMITTING TO PURCHASING FLEETS<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">An 11th test flight in January reached just 5% less than Mach 1 prior to the supersonic flight on Tuesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The supersonic flight inched Boom closer to returning supersonic travel to the public.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"featured featured-video video-ct\">\n<div class=\"video-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"info\">\n<div class=\"caption\">\n<p class=\"sub-text\">Overture was designed by Boom Technology and aims to usher in a new era of supersonic travel by transporting passengers from places like New York City to London in only a few hours.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">It&#8217;s been more than 20 years since the Concorde was retired, but Boom aims to enter a new era of supersonic travel with its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/earth-space\/boom-supersonic-jet-airliner-overture-travel-concorde\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">environmentally friendly airliner, Overture<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">&#8220;It\u2019s time to bring (supersonic flight) back for all of us. It\u2019s time to bring it back in a mainstream way,&#8221; Scholl said. &#8220;We\u2019re not going to stop until everyone can benefit from this, from the president to every family, to make the world a smaller place.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">American, United and Japan airlines have agreements to purchase Boom aircraft for their fleets.
