Redding has only received 0.63 inches \u2013 just 10% of its January average. Tuesday has the highest risk of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/7-facts-you-should-know-about-flash-floods\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">flash flooding<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div data-v-b8684aba=\"\">\n<div class=\"freeform-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/media.foxweather.com\/weather\/West%20Multi-Day%20Flash%20Flood%20Outlook.png\"\/><figcaption>A look at the flash flood threat in the West over the next three days.<br \/><strong>(FOX Weather)<\/strong><\/figcaption><hr\/>\n<p>\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">In the Sierra Nevada foothills, rainfall could reach up to 20 inches, raising the risk of mudslides and rockslides. However, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/how-wildfire-burn-scars-could-have-lasting-impacts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">burn-scar flooding<\/a> is not expected at this time.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Later in the week, the atmospheric river is expected to shift southward, bringing much-needed rain to Southern California. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/extreme-weather\/palisades-eaton-california-wildfires-contained-recovery\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">This shift is welcome news for firefighters battling ongoing blazes in the region<\/a>. The second storm system arriving Monday and continuing into Tuesday night will bring colder air from the Gulf of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/alaska\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alaska<\/a>, causing snow levels to fall dramatically.<\/p>\n<div data-v-b8684aba=\"\">\n<div class=\"freeform-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/media.foxweather.com\/weather\/California%20Mountain%20Snow%20QPF.png?v1\"\/><figcaption>A look at the snow still to come in California through Wednesday.<br \/><strong>(FOX Weather)<\/strong><\/figcaption><hr\/>\n<p>\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">By Tuesday morning, snow levels will drop to 3,000-4,000 feet in the southern Cascades and 4,000-5,000 feet in the Sierra Nevada. By Tuesday night, snow could impact higher elevations along Interstate 5 and Interstate 90.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The Sierra could receive another 3-4 feet of snow, creating major travel disruptions.
