This will require 60-day notices of involuntary layoff be issued to impacted employees in coming weeks, in accordance with the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act. The Moon is a distraction. Mass to orbit is the key metric, thereafter mass to Mars surface. The former needs to be in the megaton to orbit per year range to build a self-sustaining colony on Mars,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1875023335891026324?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Musk posted on the social media platform X<\/a> in early January.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Musk\u2019s advocacy to reach the Red Planet has continued despite increasing intentions by China to become only the second country to put humans on the Moon by 2030.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The China National Space Administration (CNSA) has been relatively tight-lipped about its future lunar activities, but former NASA leadership warned about the communist country\u2019s ambitions.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">&#8220;It is crucial for us to land on the lunar south pole to prevent ceding any portions of it to the Chinese,&#8221; said then-current NASA Administrator Bill Nelson <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/earth-space\/lunar-orbit-nasa-space\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">during an Artemis briefing in late 2024<\/a>. &#8220;I wish that China could be someone that we could cooperate with, and maybe there will be an opportunity in the future. I hope so.
