href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/pets\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dog<\/a> desperately trying to escape an icy canal in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/michigan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Michigan<\/a> was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/safety\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">safely<\/a> rescued by brave police officers earlier this week, and the entire ordeal was caught on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/video\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">video<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">According to information provided by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/michigan\/trenton\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trenton<\/a> Police Department, officers received a 911 call just before 5:30 p.m. on Monday reporting that a dog had fallen through the ice in a canal located within Elizabeth href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/animals\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">animal<\/a> as it struggled to keep its head above the frigid water.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">One of the officers entered the icy water, breaking through sections of ice, while the second officer helped from the shallower water.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The dog can be heard whimpering in the
