(Video from February 2025)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/corelogic.foleon.com\/catastrophe-risk\/2025-severe-convective-storm-risk-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">2025 Severe Convective Storm Risk Report<\/a> details the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/hail\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hail<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/tornadoes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tornado<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/watch\/play-591b50eb90001a6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">straight-line wind<\/a> risk by state and metro area.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">&#8220;For homebuyers, I think it&#8217;s incredibly important to think about the natural disaster risk for a property because of the impact it&#8217;s going to have on insurability, insurance affordability,&#8221; Schneyer said. &#8220;What&#8217;s great, if there is risk in the area where you want to live, if you want to live in coastal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/florida\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Florida<\/a>, if you want to live in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/texas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Texas<\/a>, or you want to live in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/georgia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Georgia<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/north-carolina\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">North Carolina<\/a>, where there is a natural disaster risk. Or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/california\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">California<\/a> for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/wildfires\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wildfires<\/a>. These areas are known to be risky for a disaster. If you live in an area that sees more severe weather than other parts of the U.S., maybe that means upgrading your roof that can withstand hail damage.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">And that, Schneyer said, will be reflected in your insurance premiums.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">&#8220;So, these risk reports are just highlighting the issue that there&#8217;s a need to address the risks for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/business\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">businesses<\/a>, for insurance providers or lenders, but even for consumers&#8221; he said. &#8220;You want to live in this area? Great. Consider the natural disaster risk.
