Blue Ghost is set to touch down on the Moon in early March.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">March ushers in the start of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/lifestyle\/the-history-of-daylight-saving-time\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">daylight saving time<\/a> as well as a host of skygazing opportunities to kick off the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/spring\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">spring<\/a> season. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">To start March, a waxing crescent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/moon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Moon<\/a> and a warming trend underway for much of the U.S. equals a good time to step outside and look up.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">For the first week of the month, our solar system\u2019s smallest planet, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/mercury\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mercury<\/a>, reaches its greatest angular separation from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/sun\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sun<\/a>. On March 8, Mercury will appear at its highest above the western horizon just as evening twilight ends and will set about 40 minutes later.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Then it\u2019s time to spring forward for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/lifestyle\/the-history-of-daylight-saving-time\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">daylight saving time<\/a>. At 2 a.m. ET on March 9, automatic clocks will jump forward to 3 a.m. Just don\u2019t forget to reset your manual clocks, such as the ones on your oven and microwave.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/earth-space\/earth-clear-from-asteroid-strike-2032\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>EARTH IN THE CLEAR FROM ASTEROID 2024 YR4 STRIKE IN 2032 AFTER IMPACT CHANCES DROP TO NEARLY ZERO<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Throughout March, all the planets will make an appearance either in the night or morning sky.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">On the morning of March 12, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/saturn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Saturn<\/a> will be in conjunction on the far side of the Sun and appear in the early dawn sky on the eastern horizon. Later in the day after sunset, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/venus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Venus<\/a> and Mercury will appear closest to each other, just 5.5 degrees apart, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/nasa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NASA<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">March\u2019s full Moon, known as the Blood Worm Moon, reaches peak illumination just before 3 a.m. on Friday, March 14. The eclipse begins at 11:57 p.m. Thursday and reaches totality at 2:59 a.m. Friday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Lunar eclipses like this one can appear to make the Moon glow &#8220;blood red,&#8221;, which is why March&#8217;s full Moon is known as the Blood Worm Moon.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The Northern Hemisphere will have to wait until April for any meteor shower activity.
