Brian Brettschneider from the NWS Alaska Region joins FOX Weather to talk about the record month.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><strong>MAT-SU VALLEY, Alaska <\/strong>\u2013 Two people are presumed dead following an ATV crash through the ice on the Susitna River in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/alaska\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alaska<\/a>, according to troopers.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">With intensive search efforts over two days proving unsuccessful, <a href=\"https:\/\/dailydispatch.dps.alaska.gov\/Home\/DisplayIncident?incidentNumber=AK25020755\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alaska State Troopers<\/a> moved to a reactive search strategy Saturday, responding only to new leads and sightings.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The incident unfolded Thursday morning when a side-by-side ATV carrying five adults broke through the unstable ice on the river, troopers said. The search area spanned from the last known location of the ATV downstream to the mouth of the river. The Civil Air Patrol also joined the effort, deploying aircraft to aid in the aerial search.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The three survivors, who managed to reach a nearby work camp, were later transported by chartered helicopter.
