FOX Weather Meteorologists Britta Merwin and Craig Herrera break down the latest forecast.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3 data-v-4e81e892=\"\">Fast Facts:<\/h3>\n<ul data-v-2519e4fa=\"\">\n<li data-v-2519e4fa=\"\"><strong>Five-day stretch of severe weather kicks off Wednesday in the Ark-La-Tex region.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li data-v-2519e4fa=\"\"><strong>More than 25 states could be impacted during the multiday severe weather outbreak.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li data-v-2519e4fa=\"\"><strong>Large hail, damaging wind gusts and strong tornadoes all possible through the weekend.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">A potential multiday <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/severe-weather\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">severe weather<\/a> outbreak has tens of millions of people in more than 25 states on alert for powerful <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/thunderstorms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thunderstorms<\/a> capable of producing large <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/hail\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hail<\/a>, damaging <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/wind\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wind<\/a> gusts and even some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/tornadoes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tornadoes<\/a> starting Friday.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The FOX Forecast Center said it is most concerned about what could potentially happen this weekend, but severe thunderstorms are also possible on Wednesday and Thursday across portions of the Ark-La-Tex, Deep South and Gulf Coast.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/how-to-watch-fox-weather-on-tv\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><u>HOW TO WATCH FOX WEATHER<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">On Wednesday, NOAA\u2019s Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has highlighted portions of the southern Plains and lower Mississippi Valley where strong to severe thunderstorms could cause some disruptions.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">More than 4 million people in southeastern <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/oklahoma\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>Oklahoma<\/u><\/a>, northeastern <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/texas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>Texas,<\/u><\/a> western <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/arkansas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>Arkansas<\/u><\/a> and northwestern <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/louisiana\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Louisiana<\/a> have been placed in a level 2 out of 5 risk on the SPC\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/weather-geek-speak-severe-weather-categories-explained\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>severe thunderstorm risk scale<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/app\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><u>DOWNLOAD THE FREE FOX WEATHER APP<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<div data-v-b8684aba=\"\">\n<div class=\"freeform-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/media.foxweather.com\/weather\/WED%20Hail%20Outlook%20and%20Potential.png\"\/><figcaption>This graphic shows the large hail threat on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.<br \/><strong>(FOX Weather)<\/strong><\/figcaption><hr\/>\n<p>\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The main threats from thunderstorms that develop on Wednesday will be large hail and damaging winds. The SPC said there is the potential for some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/what-is-a-supercell-thunderstorm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">supercell thunderstorms<\/a> to develop across the region, and that&#8217;s where the large hail threat would be highest.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">On Thursday, the severe weather threat then shifts to portions of eastern <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/mississippi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>Mississippi,<\/u><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/alabama\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>Alabama<\/u><\/a>, western <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/georgia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Georgia<\/a> and the western <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/florida\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Florida<\/a> Panhandle, including cities like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/alabama\/montgomery\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>Montgomery<\/u><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/alabama\/tuscaloosa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>Tuscaloosa<\/u><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/alabama\/birmingham\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>Birmingham<\/u><\/a> in Alabama.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Currently, that region is weekend<\/h2>\n<div data-v-b8684aba=\"\">\n<div class=\"freeform-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" much of the activity picking up during the afternoon and continuing into the overnight hours as the storm system intensifies across the central <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">U.S.<\/a><\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Forecasters said a rapidly strengthening <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/why-is-atmospheric-pressure-so-important-to-the-forecast\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>low-pressure system<\/u><\/a> will track across the central Plains, dragging a strong <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/what-is-a-cold-front\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>cold front<\/u><\/a> along with it.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Ahead of that, moisture from the Gulf will be pulled northward into the lower and mid-Mississippi Valley and maybe even as far north as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/iowa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>Iowa<\/u><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/wisconsin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>Wisconsin<\/u><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/illinois\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>Illinois<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The FOX Forecast Center said that from the Ark-La-Tex region into the lower Mississippi Valley, more moisture will combine with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/wind-shear\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>wind shear<\/u><\/a> \u2013 the change in wind speed and direction with height \u2013 creating a favorable setup for all severe weather threats.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/nighttime-tornadoes-how-you-stay-safe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><u>NIGHTTIME TORNADOES: HOW YOU CAN STAY SAFE FROM NOCTURNAL href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/squall-line-severe-weather-damaging-winds-tornadoes-dangerous\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">squall line<\/a> are also possible, bringing the threats of damaging winds, large hail and tornadoes.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Some of those tornadoes could be strong (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/how-are-tornadoes-rated-the-enhanced-fujita-scale-explained\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>EF-2 or higher<\/u><\/a>).<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Currently, it looks like cities such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/missouri\/st-louis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>St. Louis<\/u><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/tennessee\/memphis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>Memphis<\/u><\/a> in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/tennessee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>Tennessee<\/u><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/arkansas\/little-rock\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>Little Rock<\/u><\/a> in Arkansas could see the highest risk.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The SPC placed more than 13 million people from northern Mississippi to Illinois in a level 3 out of 5 threat.<\/p>\n<p WARNING: HERE ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THESE WEATHER TERMS THAT COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<h2 data-v-4e81e892=\"\">New Orleans, Atlanta on alert for powerful thunderstorms on Saturday<\/h2>\n<div data-v-b8684aba=\"\">\n<div class=\"freeform-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/media.foxweather.com\/weather\/SAT%20Severe%20Outlook.png\"\/><figcaption>This graphic shows the severe weather threat on Saturday, March 14, 2025.<br \/><strong>(FOX Weather)<\/strong><\/figcaption><hr\/>\n<p>\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The powerful storm system will continue to move off to the east on Saturday, placing tens of millions of people from the Gulf Coast to the southern Great Lakes at risk of strong to severe thunderstorms.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Questions remain with regard to how the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/atmosphere\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>atmosphere<\/u><\/a> will destabilize on Saturday, particularly in areas farther north.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">However, the FOX Forecast Center said a corridor of rich Gulf moisture is expected to set up from central and southern Mississippi into northern Alabama, creating a favorable environment for severe weather ahead of the surging cold front.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">With some strong wind shear in place, conditions will allow for the development of supercell thunderstorms and the eventual development of another fast-moving squall line.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Thunderstorms could again produce hail, damaging winds and tornadoes, and torrential rain could lead to some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/flood\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>flooding<\/u><\/a> issues.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Currently, the SPC has placed more than 18 million people from Louisiana to the Tennessee Valley in a level 3 out of 5 risk of severe weather.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">This includes cities like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/louisiana\/new-orleans\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New Orleans<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/louisiana\/baton-rouge\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Baton Rouge<\/a> in Louisiana, Birmingham and Montgomery in Alabama and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/georgia\/atlanta\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Atlanta<\/a> in Georgia.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/what-to-do-during-multiple-weather-warnings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><u>STAY OR GO?
