rel=\"noopener\">snow<\/a> is expected farther north, the FOX Forecast Center said. The Dakotas, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/montana\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Montana<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/wyoming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wyoming<\/a> and parts of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/minnesota\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Minnesota<\/a> will be most at risk.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div data-v-b8684aba=\"\">\n<div class=\"freeform-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/media.foxweather.com\/weather\/North%20Snow%20QPF.png\"\/><figcaption>A look at the snow forecast in the northern Plains and Upper Midwest.<br \/><strong>(FOX Weather)<\/strong><\/figcaption><hr\/>\n<p>\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">However, like last week, snow totals could be limited due to a lack of deep cold air and strong southerly flow. If the storm undergoes this rapid intensification, it will generate a massive wind response across much of the central <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">U.S.<\/a><\/p>\n<div data-v-b8684aba=\"\">\n<div class=\"freeform-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/media.foxweather.com\/weather\/Plains%20March%20Record%20Pressure.png?v9\"\/><figcaption>This system could challenge low-pressure records for parts of the region.<br \/><strong>(FOX Weather)<\/strong><\/figcaption><hr\/>\n<p>\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">&#8220;Because the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/air-pressure\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pressure<\/a> is so low in response to that pressure change, the winds are going to be nuts, especially on the backside,&#8221; FOX Weather Meteorologist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/person\/m\/britta-merwin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Britta Merwin<\/a> said. &#8220;Strong enough not only to take out power but the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/visibility\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">visibility<\/a> concerns.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Wind gusts could reach 60-75 mph, Merwin added, which could lead to blizzard or near-blizzard conditions.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/blizzard-alley-northern-plains\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>HERE&#8217;S WHY \u2018BLIZZARD ALLEY\u2019 IS IN THE NORTHERN PLAINS<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<div data-v-b8684aba=\"\">\n<div class=\"freeform-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/media.foxweather.com\/weather\/FRI%20North%20Wind%20Forecast.png?v6\"\/><figcaption>Here&#8217;s a look at the wind forecast in the North on Friday.<br \/><strong>(FOX Weather)<\/strong><\/figcaption><hr\/>\n<p>\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Travel conditions are expected to deteriorate rapidly, with a moderate risk of blowing snow forecast not just on Friday, but into Saturday and Sunday as well. Interstate highways such as I-90 and I-29 are particularly vulnerable and could experience significant disruptions.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">&#8220;That is going to have an impact for many people all the way from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/north-dakota\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">North Dakota<\/a> clear down into portions of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/nebraska\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nebraska<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/iowa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Iowa<\/a>,&#8221; FOX Weather Meteorologist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/person\/h\/craig-herrera\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Craig Herrera<\/a> said.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">While the immediate snowfall may not be substantial, the real threat comes from the intense cold air following the storm&#8217;s passage.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Temperatures are expected to drop into the 30s and 40s on Friday, with further declines into the teens by Saturday night.
