that multiple days of potent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/thunderstorms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thunderstorms<\/a> could bring destructive <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/wind\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">winds<\/a>, large <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/hail\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hail<\/a>, and significant <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/what-is-a-long-track-tornado\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">long-tracked tornado<\/a> activity (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/mississippi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mississippi<\/a>. The overall tornado threat is over 1,000 miles long. The states with the most concern look to be centered in the mid-Mississippi Valley, including cities like St. Louis, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/missouri\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Missouri<\/a>; Memphis, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/tennessee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tennessee<\/a>; Paducah, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/kentucky\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kentucky<\/a>; and Little Rock, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/arkansas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arkansas<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Tornadoes, several of which could be strong, widespread damaging winds with gusts from 70 to 90 mph, and scattered large hail up to baseball-size will be possible, according to NOAA&#8217;s Storm Prediction Center.<\/p>\n<h2 data-v-4e81e892=\"\">Multiple intense, long-tracked tornadoes possible Saturday<\/h2>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">On Saturday, the powerful storm system will continue tracking east as a tornado outbreak is possible across the central Gulf Coast states and Deep South into the Tennessee Valley.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/watch-vs-warning-here-are-the-differences-between-these-weather-terms-that-could-save-your-life\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><u>WATCH VS. The line of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/what-is-a-supercell-thunderstorm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">supercells<\/a> is then expected to swing through central and southern Mississippi into northern <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/alabama\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alabama<\/a>, central and east Tennessee and north <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/georgia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Georgia<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Cities like New Orleans, Louisiana, and Birmingham, Alabama, are under a Level 4 out of 5 risk, indicating a high likelihood of supercell thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes and damaging winds.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2 data-v-4e81e892=\"\">Final days of storms likely to slam East Coast on Sunday<\/h2>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">By Sunday, the storm will have traversed across the entire U.S. with its eye now on the East Coast, including the I-95 corridor. \u00a0The threat of tornadoes will be confined from the Virginia coast south into the Carolinas.
