During a solar storm of this level, Northern Lights could be visible from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/new-york\/new-york-city\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>New York<\/u><\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/idaho\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>Idaho<\/u><\/a>. The SWPC forecasts the greatest expected Kp index on Wednesday night to reach 5.67 out of 9, which could mean moderate geomagnetic storming.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">It could be a good night, weather-wise, to view the Northern lights with minimal cloud cover in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/north-dakota\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">North Dakota<\/a>, New York and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/maine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Maine<\/a>. The less dense, cooler plasma <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>travels<\/u><\/a> at faster speeds into space, streaming along the Sun&#8217;s magnetic field lines.
