LOUIS<\/strong> \u2013 Yet again, another round of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/severe-weather\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">severe weather<\/a> is set to threaten the central <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">U.S.<\/a> with damaging <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/wind\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">winds<\/a>, large <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/hail\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hail<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/tornadoes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tornadoes<\/a> starting later Tuesday and continuing through Thursday. While there is some uncertainty about storm coverage farther south along the cold front, if any storms do develop, they could bring damaging winds and possibly a tornado risk.<\/p>\n<h2 data-v-4e81e892=\"\">Multiday severe weather threat peaks Wednesday, lingers into Thursday<\/h2>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">A significant severe weather threat is anticipated Wednesday, stretching from Lower <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/michigan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Michigan<\/a> and the Ohio Valley southwestward through the mid-South and southern Plains, the FOX Forecast Center said.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Storms are likely to be ongoing or developing early in the day from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/wisconsin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wisconsin<\/a> to Oklahoma and Texas. As a strong storm system moves across the northern Plains and a cold front pushes eastward, warm, humid air will create a favorable environment for severe thunderstorms.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/app\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><u>DOWNLOAD THE FREE FOX WEATHER APP<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<div data-v-b8684aba=\"\">\n<div class=\"freeform-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/media.foxweather.com\/weather\/WED%20Severe%20Outlook.png\"\/><figcaption>A look at the severe storm threat in the central U.S. on Wednesday.<br \/><strong>(FOX Weather)<\/strong><\/figcaption><hr\/>\n<p>\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">This setup may favor isolated <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/what-is-a-supercell-thunderstorm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">supercell thunderstorms<\/a>, increasing the potential for very large hail, especially farther south, as well as widespread damaging winds and a significant risk of tornadoes, some of which could be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/how-are-tornadoes-rated-the-enhanced-fujita-scale-explained\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EF-2 or stronger<\/a>, the FOX Forecast Center said.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Storms will continue through the evening and overnight, moving eastward across the Midwest and lower Mississippi Valley.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">On Thursday, the cold front will slow and stall from the Mississippi and Ohio valleys into the southern Plains. Even as the main storm system moves into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/canada\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Canada<\/a>, daytime heating and high <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/humidity\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">humidity<\/a> will fuel another round of severe storms, with damaging winds, large hail and tornadoes possible, the FOX Forecast Center noted.<\/p>\n<div data-v-b8684aba=\"\">\n<div class=\"freeform-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/media.foxweather.com\/weather\/THU%20Severe%20Outlook.png\"\/><figcaption>A look at the severe storm threat in the central U.S. on Thursday.<br \/><strong>(FOX Weather)<\/strong><\/figcaption><hr\/>\n<p>\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2 data-v-4e81e892=\"\"><strong>Rainfall totals could approach a foot across parts of Tennessee, Kentucky<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The FOX Forecast Center is also monitoring a growing threat of extensive flash flooding in the Mississippi and Ohio valleys this week, coinciding with the severe weather.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Repeated storms moving over the same areas \u2013 known as training \u2013 are expected, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/weather-news\/new-fox-model-a-game-changer-in-short-term-weather-prediction\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">computer forecast models<\/a> indicating 24-hour totals exceeding 5-8 inches in some spots, particularly from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/arkansas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arkansas<\/a> into western <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/kentucky\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kentucky<\/a>, on top of previous days&#8217; rainfall.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">While 3-5 inches of rain could fall from Wednesday into Thursday, prompting early <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/explaining-flood-alerts-issued-by-national-weather-service\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">flash flood alerts<\/a>, the FOX Forecast Center warned that the primary period of concern will linger into the weekend. By Thursday, the expected prolonged heavy rain continues the level 3 flash flood threat for parts of western <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/tennessee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tennessee<\/a> and Kentucky, with a potential upgrade to the highest threat level.
