With a surge of moisture and instability fueling storms along a slow-moving front, the risk of flash <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/flood\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">flooding<\/a> will be high.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">&#8220;The forecast heavy rainfall in this event has a return interval of anywhere from 25 to 100 years,&#8221; the National Weather Service in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/arkansas\/little-rock\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Little Rock<\/a>, Arkansas, said. &#8220;In other words, a heavy rainfall event of this magnitude falling within four days is an event that happens once in a generation to once in a lifetime. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/history\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Historic<\/a> rainfall totals and impacts are possible.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/how-to-watch-fox-weather-on-tv\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>HOW TO WATCH FOX WEATHER<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<div data-v-b8684aba=\"\">\n<div class=\"freeform-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/media.foxweather.com\/weather\/Digital_Radar.gif\"\/><figcaption>A three-hour radar loop showing where rain (green) and snow (blue) are ongoing. Flash Flood Warnings are indicated in green, while Flash Flood Emergencies are indicated in pink.<br \/><strong>(FOX Weather)<\/strong><\/figcaption><hr\/>\n<p>\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The greatest concerns stretch from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/mississippi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mississippi<\/a> Valley into the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/ohio\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ohio<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/tennessee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tennessee<\/a> valleys, where repeated rounds of storms will likely bring significant rainfall totals with local amounts up to a foot by the weekend, the FOX Forecast Center said. This is on top of several inches of rain that will have already fallen in previous days.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">&#8220;This is an increasingly significant setup approaching with potential for high impacts and life-threatening flash flooding spanning the course of several days,&#8221; NOAA&#8217;s Weather Prediction Center (WPC) said. &#8220;Be sure to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/prepare\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">prepare<\/a> if you live in a flood zone anywhere from Arkansas, northeast through the Ohio\/Tennessee valleys.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div data-v-b8684aba=\"\">\n<div class=\"freeform-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/media.foxweather.com\/weather\/Midweek%20Rain%20QPF.png?v6\"\/><figcaption>As much as a foot of rain could fall over parts of the Mississippi and Ohio valleys through Sunday.<br \/><strong>(FOX Weather)<\/strong><\/figcaption><hr\/>\n<p>\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The unsettled pattern will continue into Friday and Saturday, with heavy rain and severe storms potentially persisting.
