Officials say the devastation in Kentucky continues after a boy was found dead after he was swept away by floodwater.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><strong>FRANKFORT, Ky. <\/strong>\u2013 A relentless barrage of tornadoes and historic flash flooding across several states has now claimed at least eight lives as of Friday, according to state and local officials.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The latest death occurred in Frankfort, Kentucky, where police said a boy was swept away by floodwaters while on his way to the school bus stop in the Hickory Hills area. He was found dead a few hours later by EMS and first responders. His age and identity have not yet been released.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">&#8220;A tragedy such as this is felt by our entire community and we all grieve together,&#8221; Frankfort Mayor Layne Wilkerson said. &#8220;We encourage our community to be diligent and stay safe during this weekend\u2019s continuing severe weather event.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">This comes after a deadly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/tornadoes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><u>tornado<\/u><\/a> outbreak killed at least seven<i> <\/i>people<i> <\/i>and spawned <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spc.noaa.gov\/climo\/reports\/250402_rpts.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><u>more than 30 reports of twisters<\/u><\/a> across the lower and mid-<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/mississippi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><u>Mississippi<\/u><\/a> Valley on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">At least five of those deaths happened in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/tennessee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>Tennessee<\/u><\/a>, state officials said Thursday night. On Thursday, President Donald Trump approved the disaster declaration for all 95 counties in Tennessee, setting in motion FEMA&#8217;s response to disaster relief across the state.<\/p>\n<div Missouri, Whitewater Fire Protection District Chief Garry Moore was killed while responding to severe weather on Wednesday night along Highway 25 between Advance and Delta, Missouri.
