Waking up early Saturday rain continues with some snow in the higher terrain across northern New England.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Widespread soaking rain and cold temperatures for mid-April are ahead for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/northeast\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Northeast<\/a> this weekend courtesy of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/why-is-atmospheric-pressure-so-important-to-the-forecast\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">low-pressure system<\/a> that will develop Friday off the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/mid-atlantic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>mid-Atlantic<\/u><\/a> coast and arrive in the Northeast and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/new-england\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>New England<\/u><\/a> by Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">This is the second round of wet weather for many of these areas. On Thursday, a different low-pressure system moved across the Great Lakes and into the Northeast, bringing rain and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/snow\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">snow<\/a> to higher elevations.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The rounds of damp conditions will help create a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/7-facts-you-should-know-about-flash-floods\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">flash flood<\/a> threat for parts of the Interstate 95 corridor from late Friday into early Saturday.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/weather-news\/severe-weather-outlook-midwest-south-southeast-april-2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>SEVERE WEATHER THREATENS PARTS OF AMERICA&#8217;S HEARTLAND TRYING TO RECOVER FROM HISTORIC FLOODING, DEADLY STORMS<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<div data-v-b8684aba=\"\">\n<div class=\"freeform-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/media.foxweather.com\/weather\/FRI%20Flash%20Flood%20Outlook.png\"\/><figcaption>The flash flood threat along the East Coast on Friday, April 10, 2025.<br \/><strong>(FOX Weather)<\/strong><\/figcaption><hr\/>\n<p>\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/what-is-the-jet-stream\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">jet stream<\/a> dips south into the end of the workweek, which allows the low-pressure system to develop Friday off the mid-Atlantic coast.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">According to the FOX Forecast Center, as the storm moves up the coast on Friday, it may bring a few strong to severe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/thunderstorms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thunderstorms <\/a>to parts of coastal North and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/south-carolina\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">South Carolina<\/a>. Any storms that do develop could produce large <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/hail\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hail<\/a> and damaging <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/wind\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">winds<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Rain will reach the I-95 corridor in the mid-Atlantic late Friday afternoon, with 1-2 inches expected to fall from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/virginia\/richmond\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Richmond<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/virginia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Virginia<\/a>, northward to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/washington-dc\/washington\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Washington<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/maryland\/baltimore\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Baltimore<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/pennsylvania\/philadelphia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Philadelphia<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/new-york\/new-york-city\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York City<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/massachusetts\/boston\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Boston<\/a> through Sunday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The potential for heavy rain prompted <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov\/qpf\/excessive_rainfall_outlook_ero.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">NOAA&#8217;s Weather Prediction Center<\/a> to issue a Level 1 out of 4 flash flood threat from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/north-carolina\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">North Carolina<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/new-jersey\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New Jersey<\/a> from Friday into early Saturday morning, covering some 31 million people.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">In addition, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/earth-space\/full-pink-moon-rises-april-spring-micromoon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">full Moon this weekend<\/a>, combined with this system, could bring some coastal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/flood\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">flooding<\/a> as well.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a
