most significant threats likely on Thursday and Friday.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Severe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/thunderstorms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thunderstorms<\/a> packing large <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/hail\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hail<\/a>, damaging <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/wind\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">winds<\/a> and even <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/tornadoes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tornadoes<\/a> could impact millions of Americans from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/midwest\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Midwest<\/a> to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/mississippi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mississippi<\/a> Valley.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a season<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">&#8220;Since April 1, we have only had three days where we haven&#8217;t had some sort of severe storm threat,&#8221; FOX Weather Meteorologist Zack Green href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/kansas\/wichita\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wichita<\/a>, Kansas; and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/nebraska\/omaha\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Omaha<\/a>, Nebraska, are urged to monitor forecasts for the possibility of large hail and damaging wind gusts. While the immediate threat of tornadoes is considered low for Wednesday night, Green emphasizes that it is still a &#8220;non-zero threat.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">&#8220;Completely different story once we make our way into Thursday as well as Friday,&#8221; Green said.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Thursday is when the severe weather potential significantly increases and expands across parts of the Plains and into the Midwest.<\/p>\n<div data-v-b8684aba=\"\">\n<div class=\"freeform-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/media.foxweather.com\/weather\/THU%20Severe%20Outlook.png\"\/><figcaption>This graphic shows the severe weather threat on Thursday, April 17, 2025.<br \/><strong>(FOX Weather)<\/strong><\/figcaption><hr\/>\n<p>\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">About 11 million people are under threat Thursday from strong winds, large hail and the possibility of tornadoes, with the greatest risk centered on eastern Nebraska, northern <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/missouri\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Missouri<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/iowa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Iowa<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The FOX Forecast Center said temperatures expected to reach into the 80s in cities like Omaha and Kansas City will further fuel storm development.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The severe weather threat intensifies and broadens even further on Friday, potentially affecting over 40 million people from the southern Plains to the Great Lakes. Numerous thunderstorms are expected to erupt across a large but relatively narrow corridor stretching from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/michigan\/detroit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Detroit<\/a> down to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/oklahoma\/oklahoma-city\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Oklahoma City<\/a> and potentially as far south as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/texas\/dallas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dallas<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">&#8220;Friday, I think, is my point of concern,&#8221; Green notes.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Depending on the system&#8217;s evolution, damaging winds, large hail and tornadoes will all be possible.
