A significant late-season snowstorm is expected to bring high <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/wind\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">winds<\/a> and as much as 1-2 feet of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/snow\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>snow<\/u><\/a> to the Rockies from Wednesday night through Saturday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Ahead of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/winter-weather\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>winter weather<\/u><\/a>, temperatures may climb to record levels in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/colorado\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>Colorado<\/u><\/a>, with highs in the 70s to lower 80s expected before the snow arrives.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/weather-news\/winter-storm-warning-criteria-nws-new\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>Winter Storm Watches<\/u><\/a> and Winter Weather Advisories are in place for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/montana\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>Montana<\/u><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/wyoming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>Wyoming<\/u><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/utah\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>Utah<\/u><\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/watch\/fmc-3fb7obtwafopctay\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>THOUSANDS STILL WITHOUT POWER AFTER ICE STORM SLAMS NORTHERN MICHIGAN<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<div data-v-b8684aba=\"\">\n<div class=\"freeform-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" rel=\"noopener\">Denver<\/a> is expected to climb into the 70s on Wednesday afternoon and again Thursday morning, the Mile High City could see snowflakes by Thursday evening as a fast-moving area of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/why-is-atmospheric-pressure-so-important-to-the-forecast\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">low pressure<\/a> swings in from the northwest and sends temperatures plummeting.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">This area of low pressure combined with the colder temperatures will help bring rain and snow to higher elevations.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Denver will have the chance of accumulating snow by Friday. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/utah\/salt-lake-city\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Salt Lake City<\/a>, Utah, could see accumulations as well.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Snow will persist through Friday before the system begins to move into the Plains by Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/average-annual-snow-for-your-city\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>HOW MUCH SNOW DOES YOUR CITY NORMALLY GET IN A YEAR?<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<div data-v-b8684aba=\"\">\n<div class=\"freeform-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/new-mexico\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New Mexico<\/a> and San Francisco Peaks of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/arizona\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arizona<\/a> by Friday. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/arizona\/flagstaff\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Flagstaff<\/a>, Arizona, is forecast to drop to 18 degrees Friday night.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/thundersnow-what-causes-lightning-and-thunder-during-a-snowstorm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Thundersnow<\/a> is also not out of the question for eastern Colorado into Friday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">All told, parts of Colorado and Wyoming could see between a foot and 2 feet of snow.<\/p>\n<h2 data-v-4e81e892=\"\">April snow is not unusual in the West<\/h2>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">While <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/winter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">winter<\/a>&#8216;s grasp may seem longer than usual this year, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/april-snow-city-records\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">April is actually the snowiest month for several Western states<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Parts of Colorado, Wyoming and the Black Hills of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/south-dakota\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">South Dakota<\/a> all see their greatest average snowfall in April.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Denver, Salt Lake City and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/wyoming\/cheyenne\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cheyenne<\/a>, Wyoming, have all had their last recorded snow in June.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/when-is-last-snow-of-season\"
